well I currently pay $345 a month for my tC and my grandmother handles my insurance payments. As far as bills go I only amount to about $500 a month + gas..I fill up about every 1 1/2 weeks or so and I generally make $400 a month payments instaed of the $345.

So after all this I still have a few hundred extra a month to do with what I want..so my only expensive that would really go up would be the cost of gas.

I'm still weighing my options as far as my best decision (and so far the guy on the forums hasn't gotten back to me yet) but I'm more or less leaning toward paying off the tC..saving up for 8 months to a year..make a huge down payment + trade in and get into a similar car (Evo, WRX, Gen Coupe, etc..) and finance a lot less.

Basically get evo now = 60 month loan at $400 or so a month.

Get evo 12 months from now = 60 month loan but much less payments so I can make triple payments with ease.

I have a lot of options right now so I'm just trying to decide what I want..I'm a very indecisive person and tend to be impulsive which has gotten me in trouble before lol

yeah man..we'll see..if the guy doesn't PM me back by the end of tomorrow i'm probably just going to go ahead and make the $5200 payment and focus on finishing off the tC and decide what I want to do once it's paid off..

We'll see...

2. The dealer I'm referring to is in So Cal

BTW just to end this for me - I put through the payment on the tC and decided to wait till it's paid off before I do anything like get a new car.

Good to see that you decided against it. Hold onto the tC for 1-2 more years, then trade it in for something new. You'll have some decent cash to put down by then, plus the trade-in value of the car. 5K down plus 10k trade in, only owe about 10k, pay it off in one year and you've got an $18k trade in sitting in the driveway. A lot smarter than digging yourself into a $30,000 hole.

that's the exact same mindset I've been having..if I go the route of another car payment I honestly only want to finance about $14k at the absolute most.

I'm still debating on the route I wanna go when it's paid off though..considering a 2nd car..might just slap some rims on the tC and call it a day..and I keep getting lazy with removing my header and intake haha.

I'm pretty much in the same situation. I might be picking up a '95 Accord to use as a commuter to keep the mileage off the tC (20k in 14 months FTL) and get better MPG, etc. Then I think I'm going to sell the tC for an 04-07 WRX and I'll have barely any payments on the WRX and I'll have two cars to use incase one goes down.

If you're looking at the Evo as a possible replacement but don't want to spend that much money, look into the RalliArt. I haven't heard much lately about it, but I've heard that it's basically like a de-tuned Evo.

yeah the new ralliart is pretty crazy..with an exhaust and a good tune you can pretty much have the same WHP as the evo..my only issue is it only comes in auto i mean it's the twin-clutch whatchmacallit that mitsubishi put in the MR but I really want a manual lol

The new ralliart is turbo. I believe it's just a smaller one than the one that is in the evo..check out the evolutionm.net forums and go to the section for the new ralliart..I can't remember EXACTLY what mods they used (I believe it was AMS tuning BTW) but I know it was a tune and a bolt on or 2 and it was putting down just as much power as a stock Evo X

basically the new Ralliart is a mini evo..it's meant to compete with the cars in the price range of like a WRX

Yeah, the Ralliart is Mitsubishi's answer to the WRX. Just like the WRX, a simple exhaust and tune will give it 30-50% more WHP/WTQ. I don't know much about the Ralliart, but I know the WRX turbo maxes out at around 250WHP and the 5-speed can't handle much more than 260WHP. So while the lower platforms are easy to make power, they don't have anywhere near the potential the higher platforms have. So it all depends on what you're looking for.

x2... the only reason I was able to turbo my car and change the color is because my car is paid off... but I was really close to trading it for a TL typeS
