Cool car, but the profile looks very minivanish. Even more than my xA.

I took one for a test drive today, very solid car. Done right, it looks pretty tight.

I picked mine up last Thursday, traded the xB for it. At first, I was kind of like "OMG, maybe I made a mistake!" since the xB was so comfortable after 2yrs of owning it, but now that I'm getting comfy in the Fit I'm realizing I definitely made the right choice. It really handles better than the xB overall, and the little details, like the feel of the controls, smoothness of the shifter and clutch, and power delivery are really starting to add up. And it's still stock yet. Once parts start to hit the market here, it's gonna be even better.

the only comlaint i have is that the head unit is proprietary. if you put in an aftermarket one youre gonna have a hole unless you fill it up or somethin

I'll do a full on "photoshoot" this weekend with the fit and the washed up xB so
everyone can see the comparison. The guys at the Fit forums have a long xB vs. Fit
thread going...

Honestly, the interior is lightyears beyond Scion. Very bright gauges, nice radio,
solid feeling when you slam the doors. I love the car so far. Oh, and the color
matched headlights are what sealed the deal. I think it adds to the look.

The xB has it's advantages though... And I think the overall look of the box will always
turn more heads.

Although this is true, and I agree with you wholeheartedly, Im sure Honda took into consideration the xB and its popularity when designing the Fit. They probably looked at the xA/xB and figured out ways to make their car better, in terms of feel, looks, performance. Honda may have done better this round, but the xB is getting towrds the end of its production run and you know Scion is going to step their game up for the new xB. They did when each Scion came out, and everyone scrambled to get their shotty cars up to par or better. Now its Scion's turn again to blow them out the water.

Yup, this is why competition is great. My wife commented when we bought the Fit how she's amazed you could get so much more car for a similar price after only two years. Definitely as other companies jump into the frey sub-compacts as a whole are gonna get better. More power to future Scions, if they one up the Fit, then maybe I'll cash it in in two years for another Scion.

the new GTI has the same paddle shifting, and they are called DSG..... and i do happen to ask my fren whose a Honda Specialist.... from wht he told me is that the paddle shifting on the Fit would shift faster than the tiptronic.... i guess i can call that paddle shifting

The DSG transmition on the GTi is 200 times better then this setup on the Fit.

The DSG transmition shifts into the next gear in 8 milliseconds, faster then any other system available, even ferrari. It also does not have a torque converter which truely makes it a manual transmition.

The Fit's transmition is automatic (with a torque converter) with some pretty little paddles to make you think it's more complex then it really is. Instead of moving the gear selector up and down (like most tiptronic setups), you press paddles.

You will be able to shift faster with the manual transmition then his tiptronic "paddle" setup, definately.

I was just interested & wanted to read up. It is a good comparison thread & it is nice to see everyone getting along & not bashing each other for a change. Although I did catch a few ugly xB comments in there But hey everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

To my surprise it was actually a very helpful thread for people who are really torn between the two models/brands. Good info !
