In your opinion.

While it might be a little annoying to have to stop the car to do the double key thing, bottom line is that each and every engineer that worked on that system feels responsible for the drivers. And if any single one of them tries to do something stupid because they don't understand why its stupid and kills themself, that life is on their head
I see what you're saying, but disagree with the concept. If that's the case, then only sell the car to professional race car drivers. Or do what Porsche did when they first sold the 959...you had to prove you were a reasonable person with excellent driving skills to buy it. And then you had to sign all kind of liability release papers. Or don't build the car.

There are other systems available to control such a thing. For example, why not just automatically cut the fuel if the wheel is turned to much, or if too much lift is detetected on one corner of the vehicle? Why should you be in "High Speed" mode only for these systems to operate? Why wouldn't you have the electronic nannies operate at any speed if certain conditions apply?

It's still a sports car, but it lost exotic status a long time ago.

For the record, I've never been a fan of them, however the new C6 is an awesome machine. If GM built all of their cars with this much attention to detail, they wouldn't be in the situation they are in today.

Oh, the Z06 is flat out the best sports car on the market for the money. Nothing within 50g's can keep up.

i have alot of respect for the ability of the machine, no doubt. But the styling for me has become boring. Move the desing hosue over to italy and see what comes out...

The key thing is the single reason. It's just beyond bizarre, and quite frankly smacks of marketing hoopla. As if 240mph isn't plenty of speed to do disasterous things with. Other than that, I've just been in love with Porsche since as long as I can remember, so I'd love to seem them reclaim their position on the throne.

anyone remember the 959? (<----- Can someone make an emoticon for this?)

Well I dont think that it allows 240 in normal driving as thats a whoping 15 mph less then key mode. I thought it was more like 180, 160 or so.
i was wrong its not 240....but it is 231 http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/art...0873_2,00.html

tru, tru>> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Le_Mans.gif

and what he meant by the step child comment was bugatti's been doin it longer, since 1910 i think, and they set the bench mark in the early 1900's for some 35 years( http://www.oldandsold.com/articles01/article818.shtml paragraph 12) and they have now set the bench mark again....... good luck porsche! personally i wish lamborghini would get in this race
