So... is this that Fuji-Toyota thing that's been rumbling around for the past few years?

Any info on it? Supposed to be a RWD 2+2, right?

There's an anecdotal story that Toyota dealers told Mr Toyoda directly that if they were serious about making a full size truck (after the laughable T100), they'd better either produce a V8, or go home.

If this thing isn't packing 300 hp and priced in the low $20K range, they may as well go home. The base, "secretary's car" Mustang is a 305 hp V6 RWD, gets 19/31 MPG, and has a base price of $22,145... before any incentives are tossed at it.

 

This concept is too sick. Why can't toyota just come out with a production like that

 

question i've got....how watered down will it be by the time they actually put these on the lot like they do for almost any car premiered at the autoshow?

 

check the GEneva autoshow version. it already had real world headlights and talilights. I hope they leave off the psudo- Sunfire-style light on the back. Regardless what version we ever get, it will be a hit with the senior discount crowd wanting to replace their aging Celica's and Solara's

 

I love it. I could see trading my 05 tC on it but maybe I'll be able to afford to keep both! Comments about power are moot, with a light weight chassis you don't need 300hp, leave that for the aftermarket anyway (look at Genesis coupe). I really hope they can bring this in under 3000lbs (even then that's a bit heavy for how small it looks).

 

they should have FI standard and if it weighs as much as an s2000, I'd get one in a heart beat.
