My bank just called me (b/c we haven't talked in a while). He just wanted to confirm if I had made a decision or not yet. I gave him the price I have "so far" ... which depends on how much cash I put down.

He sounded impressed with my choice.... I know I am.

Also just confirmed with my sales guy that he received my title and lien release yesterday. I'm always leery of faxing things. I just hope I put in the right number most of the time...

Any updates? I'm getting ready to put my car back into winter mode.

Also, if you're planning on getting a roof rack, just skip the factory cross bars completely. Apparently it's a PITA to find a good fairing that will fit on them.

We should start a Subaru thread. Where we all can talk, share stories, pictures, and not clog up, this thread and Jon's thread.

No updates.

I'm trying to be a bit patient and not totally harass the dealer about it. I'm probably going to call on Monday though and see if they have a VON for me yet. I'm thinking a checkin every 2 weeks should be fine.

Oh... side note... original sales guy finally left me a voicemail yesterday... FOUR weeks after I last heard from him and TWO weeks after I left him a voicemail.

I'm thinking I'm going to wait 4 weeks before I call and tell him I ordered somewhere else.

Original sales guy left another voicemail yesterday... I've yet to listen to that one.

First one just wanted to let me know they were all set and ready to put in an order for me..... O RLY?

As for why he didn't call me back (after four weeks and two ____ing voicemails) he said he wasn't at that location very much that week, just 1 or 2 days. I'm willing to bet though, that even in those 1 or 2 days (never mind the other days of the week) that he was well within reach of a phone at some point.

Dumb ____.

Called the sales guy today...

They currently have 3 2011s that got into their latest allocation (very end of August). Sadly none of them seem to be mine (or my friend's). They have a WRX Premium and WRX Limited in Sedan form an some version of STI in this recent allocation. Not sure how long those will actually take to arrive, but I don't think they're spoken for yet (except maybe the STI).

As for my order... we're hoping that it gets into this next allocation later this month (17th? 21st? somewhere in there). After that, he said I should get a VON and then later a VIN.

So now I'll TRY to be patient for another 2 weeks and hope I'm in that allocation... though I can't imagine any way that I would NOT be in that allocation, considering it would be about a month after I placed my order.

There is officially nothing more I can do to my tC to get it ready. This past week I took out the AVIC and installed in the g/f's xD (doesn't look too bad) and put the OEM stereo in. Stupid 2005s, no aux, no iPod... nothing.

No "actual" news to add... just a couple random things from this week.

I'm adding the auto-dimming mirror to my order. It's only like $127 and I had one in a couple rentals I had this year and liked it. Figured wth.

Also... I may end up taking the $2k I was going to use for a down payment and put that toward a high balance (and high interest rate) credit card instead. Based on my (very poor) math, I think this may actually help me more overall compared to using it for the car and getting a lower car payment. I'll take a slightly higher car payment over a ridiculous credit card payment any day.

Still really mulling that over and would have to clear with the bank, but I don't think it would be an issue ... we'll see.

I would do that. It will help your credit to as far as financing goes and for future endeavors.

I did pay $1500 to my Citibank card... so that's gone. Also just ordered my fairing.

I'm going to try to save the little bit of down payment I had left for tint and stuff.... though by the time I get the car, I may not be able to get it done until I warms up again. That would be ___.

Holy credit card debt, Batman!

I just canceled my exhaust order since I just paid off my last credit card. Don't feel like having to pay it back off. Feels good man.

Haha, tell me about it. That's not even the half of it.

I've made ridiculous progress on my debt in the last few years though. It's still pretty bad now but used to be REALLY bad. Based on what creditkarma.com shows as my total debt history, I've paid off about $10k in debt in the last year. But that does also include about $3-4k in car payments before the tC was paid off.

In a perfect world I would pay down my credit cards a LOT more before buying a new car... but hey, nobody's perfect... and this 2011 is a hot car.
