yeah they do, whenever people didn;t buy their crappy cars they'd facelift/semi-update them to try and grab just a few minuscule new buyers. always digging deeper and deeper into a money pit to never re-coop their crappy car expenses in teh first place let alone the new molds and dies for the facelifted version
How about Subaru? They face lift the Impreza every 2-3 years, and Subaru isn't even close to being in financial trouble.

Team N.V.S.
tc and xa updates were lighting only. NO METAL panels changed
xb1 had no facelifts just different interior fabric and radio.
xb2's facelift is bleh. but yes like the big three's reasoning to try and spruce up a slowly moving car's sales.

The poor management and unions were what made them make terrible cars in the first place, but it was nobody buying their terrible cars that made them go under.

Just because some people call them two different things doesn't mean they're two different cars; that's like saying the EG and the EK Civic's are two different cars.

Toyota was ruined once the Supra and MR2 went bye bye. I dont think Toyota will ever see my money again unless I win the lottery and buy an LF-A or they bring back something very simliar to the Supra MKIV.

Toyota is still making quality cars and always will they'll work things out and get back on track
is-F and they did die off after the supra,mr2,starlet,gt4 celica(all-trac), and the old school corollas

there's no denying the fact that Japan is focusing on hybrids. you guys seen the CRZ yet? the tuning guys are all over that car despite it's paltry 122hp. look at hpw the last Tokyo Auto Salon was focused on hybrids modification. it's out of control. Toyota made the current gen Prius rather aggressive. bodykit companies went crazy with it. there are Insight racecars going on over there. So Toyota considering the FT to be a hybrid makes all the sense. Now what that means for us, i have no idea. We may not even see that car stateside. Toyota also had a hybrid Super GT Supra

i find more and more Hybrid stuff out of Japan. tuning both body and engine stuff. lighting. it's out of control. why is this? it's because they created it. the cars are there and poeple are buying them. so companies go and make stuff for them. I have finally found pics of the C-West CRZ. Spoon retuned one to 145 hp from 122. along with a redone suspension, the car is nimble and fast and fun to drive i bet. so quit belly aching about hybrids. you'll be driving one soon enough

Tuning a hybrid makes zero sense to me. You don't buy a hybrid b/c it's fun to drive or fast. You buy it because you a) want to spend less on gas or b) want to make less of an "eco footprint" or c) want to be a total snob (I kid...).

they tune hybrids to see what happens. why else would Toyota have a hybrid Super GT car at one time? geez guys, open your eyes. it may seem senseless, but when the engine comes on line, our Prius goes faster than my xD.
I guess the FTHS was of no interest to you guys either since it's a hybrid. Toyota might have something up their sleeve. let the market get moving and drop an awesome car into it.
exhausts, intakes, suspensions, lo mass wheels, aero, audio. Japan went nuts with these cars.
