tC comparrisons?
Ok first off ladies and gents i searched but did not find what i was looking for... I bought my 06 tC FM about 3-4 weeks ago and I was just wondering what cars we are comparred to BONE STOCK in the performance area. Our cars are not fast by any means really no FWD cars are, I've built a few cars (my 2 favorites 1998 GSR w/ 250 to the wheels dyno'd and a S13 w/ SR20DET) for the GSR I dropped over 19K into it (15k just in the engine) and it was somewhat fast I hit 163 MPH racing a cobra from L.V. to L.A. (I won top speed) and the S13 was just a ridiculous amount of fun and it was RWD Turbo. anyways back on track im wondering what cars we can go heads up against with no mods (maybe drop in TRD filter) as I am not putting any money into another FWD car. I've heard 03 Si we can hold our own but what else. Dont get me wrong I love the tc good low end torque but after 5300 just not very exciting i wish it revved up like my GSR I built it to rev 9200 RPM, nothing like the sound of a blower at high RPM. So just let me know...Thank you

ralliart's are gutless, RSX type-S I wouldnt even try, totally differant level even though im a good driver I understand reality. what about tiburon V6 GT? I read through the other section that garyc_01 directed me to, man i cant believe people actually try to take on a 99 M5 or a S4, kinda funny.

a v6 tibby will beat a tC stock for stock.
v6s tibby's run low 15s and the tCs run mid 15s.
Its not by a lot. but still, having drivers of equal skill in both cars a v6 tibby will win.
Comparing cars here not drivers. Its not a "How am I compared to Luke "the Duke" jones in driving?" Thread
The 06 I4 eclipse is slower than the tC. the v6 eclipse is incredibly slow for its class (You can buy a 350 for the same price)
A regular cobalt is slower than a tC. the cobalt SS is a good match, the cobalt SS supercharged will eat a tC.
Lancer ralliart stock for stock. Is a drivers race. With an edge to the tC have a bit better power to weight ratio.
Nissan SE-R (non spec V) is still favor of the SE-R, but still probable. A spec-V will eat a tC.
Base RSX is a drivers race no matter how you slice it. type S will eat a tC.
By the way. the tC beats ALL these cars in price hands down.
Don't bring up the "but with my l33t Hunter socks of haggling +5 I can get the price of an RSX type S for 16k YO!.... Well my daddy can."

well last summer. A band of honda freinds with swaps wanted to see what my car was about. There were two red SI's and a EK Hatch.
My tC at the time was lowered, had K&N CAI and Greddy Axle Back Exhaust.
Here's the list...
ME
tC vs 2000 CIVIC SI (B18C) Beat him by Half a car length.
tC vs 2000 CIVIC SI (B16B) Took him off the line, beat him by 1&1/2 car lengths.
tC vs 1997 EK Hatch (B16B) Took him off the line, same distance as last car.
Pretty much we all ran from a dead stop up to 4th gear. With the B18C Civic, if we woulda gone farther he probably would have eventually pulled on me. The other two were owned from the start. The trick is to get your Launch down. It's especially hard to because you tend to spin your tires out. After a few launches I got the feel of how to ease off the clutch and got my launch right.
But if this were on a freeway, I dont think the tC could keep up. I wish the gearing wasn't as low, but there's always boost.
There was another time when I ran a freind who had a FM tC. We did it from a roll on the free way. At the time I uninstalled my intake and just had my axle back and my header. He only had Injen CAI and DC exhaust. He pulled on me, which suprised the hell out of me. That night I learned how much the stock airbox is restrictive. I think if I would have had my K&N CAI installed I would have owned him. But that was a kill I had to suck up.
Well hope my experiences shed some light on your topic.
