Toyota iQ = Aston Martin "Cygnet"
Never thought I'd see such a thing;

Lots more info out there for anyone that wants to google it.
I hear the iQ is being priced about the same as the Yaris, $13-14k range, but you might be able to get an Aston Martin version for around $33k! Much as I'd like an Aston, I wouldn't pay $33k for an A-M modded iQ.

Wow, if the iQ costs as much as a Yaris, why not get a Yaris? The Smart fourtwo starts at under $12k, and they're a mini Mercedes. Shouldn't a mini-Toyota cost less?
Branding it as an Aston seems.. pointless unless there's an Aston powerplant, trans and suspension to go with it. Otherwise it seems to be just a tarted up econobox. What exacty are they hand-assembling after it comes off the boat from a Japanese assembly line?
I think the litmus test is, would you want to see Daniel Craig driving this?

I read a blurb about it in the latest issue of Road & Track, iirc. They indicated it'd have the expected exterior differences like hood, grille, paint, wheels & tires, along with a plush interior typical of A-M, but that the mechanicals (drivetrain & suspension) would be stock Toyota/Scion iQ. $33k? No F'n way!
As for the Yaris, I read somewhere (?) that they're dropping it, that the iQ will be it's replacement...which would be fine with me, as I like the iQ's looks, but find the Yaris a bit too tall, especially due to the high seating position.
Daniel Craig should stick to the real Astons.

^ I thought that might be the case so I looked around a bit but didn't see anything.
Since your thread isn't shown in the "Toyota News" forum main page now, and it appears many people didn't see it anyway, this may still be news to many peeps here.
You didn't comment on it in your thread, so do you have any thought on it, or did you just drop in to say "beat ya to it!"?
