Default UPDATED 12/2/09 ukno0003's picture thread...tc into the supra

UPDATED PAGE 2

Ukno0003's pic thread

Heres the evolution to this point of my tc

back in 2005 when it was stock :

Then at the start of 2008 I started modding it. TRD springs:

Then came Seibon CF Hood, HIDs, VRD fogs

Then wheels and tyc tail lights:

Then light smoke on the tyc tails and stechs:

Then yellow fog bulbs and vrd grille:

somewhere along the way:
trd rear sway
invidia s pipe
led's inside the car
doc i's short shifter
greddy counterweight shift ****
sport pedals
and a few more small things

Then the new project came along and back to stock tail lights for the tC:

After a claybar, wax, and 20% tint:
And remember the civic si and the g35 from earlier pictures?

possibly more on the tC and alot more on the supra.

I still think I may have a few things for the tC to really finish it off, maybe. We'll see.

thanks man

hah yea and trust me ive got some big plans for this supra.

The difference in the 2jzgte and 2jzge isnt much at all. Really the only difference is a oil squirters in the pistons and a thicker head gasket. once you put in aftermarket pistons then it takes out the squirters all together. The stock 2jzge has been proven to hold around 900 hp so a swap wouldnt be worth it really except to say i swapped it. Itd cost me alot of money when i could get the same performance for alot cheaper by going the NA-T route.

I am in the process of rebuilding the engine and when I have it open im going to go ahead and upgrade some of the internals including the rods, pistons, and head gasket to lower the compression of the engine to prep it for boost. When thats done im looking at the boost logic stage 2 which i can make over 450 whp with but due to the weaker w58 tranny im going to play it safe and only run right under 400 whp.

Once its boosted, im going to go from the engine to the suspension and brakes (coilovers, sways, bigger brakes, ect).

After that then ill work on swapping the tranny out to the v160(6 speed TT tranny). Once thats in, i will up the boost and hopefully make close to 500whp. Then Ill go to wheels and wider tires.

Thats my plan for it. Its going to take a few years and alot of money to complete but Im keeping this car forever and it will eventually get done. If everything goes right i hope to have the engine built and be boosted by the end of 2009. I know ill have the engine build finished by june and hopefully boosted by december hopefully. It would be built before then but due to being at school and my supra being home itll be hard to get done before then.

ha thanks man, i will. The supra is going to take me a few years like i said to finish but eventually it will be.

Ill try to get some more pics of the tC with a better Camera when the weather here in NC gets better. The camera I used for the last tC pics was just a point and shoot.

thanks man, yea the is300 has the 2jz also. When you go NA-T you might wanna upgrade the pistons in it if you want to make some serious power. When they gave the 2jz vvti they made the pistons weaker.

goodluck with the plans for the is300 man.

thanks man, money was the main reason why it took me awhile to start modding the tC. I also wanted to make sure i was putting quality parts on it instead of rushing things and using cheap parts. Im a believer if your going to do something, you need to do it right and not cut corners. Ive only got 39k miles on it and its actually still under warranty. I bought the extended warranty on it when i bought it, im pretty sure its till 5 years 85k miles. Ive tried to wash it a 3-4 times every month since ive bought it and wax it once ever month and a half to 2 months. I am going to clay bar it and wash it soon. when i do ill add pics to the thread. Ill get some good pics of the inside as well.

It's funny, you have almost the same car and same plans as one of my friends haha. He has a red '97 Supra NA, looks exactly like yours but with an auto and no spoiler. He plans to go NA-T with the boostlogic stage 2 as well. He is also going to do the V160 swap.
