With aluminum technology, they can just cast iron sleeve the block, save weight, money, and still have similar performance.

Anywho.

I'd rather buy the calber R/T and slap on a turbo to the 2.4l. Opposed to buying a FWD F/I srt-4.

just me though

Yup, Chrysler, Mitsubishi & Hyundai. Supposedly they're some of the more resilient 4 cyl engines that Chrysler has developed in a long time..
Chrysler engines have always been great, just ask grand-dad about the slant-6. It's everything wrapped around the car that goes to pieces. Transmission especially. But then there's the seat falling apart, the dash comming loose, the a/c going out, the **** for the do-hicky that does this thingamajig that falls off, and the infamous inceminator valves that always go out. But don't worry about the engine, it'll be fine.

btw, do you know how they pronounce "Daimler Chrysler" in Germany?

"Dime-ler". The Chrysler is silent :D

I think "Daimler Chrysler" pronounced in german is pretty close to "Shi-zah" or something like that

Bleh, its ugly, and FWD with 300 horses. How one intends to drive with without spinning the wheels every slight tap of the accelerator is everyones guess.

Exactly how people intend on driving a 400 whp tC thats front wheel drive.

srt-4's have quaife LSDs in them..

I fail to see your point.

Go to your local drag strip. There are plenty of Neon SRT4s out there that can run 12s. Lots of other FWD cars too.

The Caliber is all new so time will tell what it can really do. Im guessing theSRT ones will be fast and loud like the Neon SRTs. I think they are both ugly but its affordable and fast without even having to mod it. Im suprised that they make an AWD one and its not on the SRT.

the caliber is a much better car than the neon ever was but it's still hideous. I am doing a 3 week launch for it as I promote for dodge.

oh and all the stuff I've been sent about the new srt is that it's the same 2.4 as the old srt but at the arp level 2.

No its not the same 2.4. It's a completely new engine family. Here's the allpar link which has tons of information about all chrysler ventures,

For which engine? Assuming they are for FWD I could see those mileages being possible. If its AWD then no.

Arnt you the one who bashed people for driving illegal cars? Wouldnt the turbo make your car illegal in some states like Cali?
