kia could have had a smash hit with the spectra 5, it almost won me over, but their lack of standard modern technology was what killed it. ABS was optional, so was cruise control, and a couple of other things. then they didnt make any enhancements to the 2.0L engine as far as performance. its teh coolest sportiest vehicle kia has and it could have been a matrix fighter, if only it were more fun and performance oriented

^^^ that would give the yaris, aveo, versa, fit, caliber, smart fortwo, mini cooper base, and rabbit all a run for their money since it probably would be the only turbo car that could be had for under $20k until the new smarts get here

There's no doubt that Kia/Hyundai have improved greatly. The problem is that the products they sold here for the first few years were junk and many people will never forget it. They were like buying a cheap "gold-tone" watch. They look great when they're brand new, but after you have it a while the gold wears off and it stops keeping time.
