Well, we decided to run in the true spirit of the production car, with the original motor 2AZ-FE 2.4L four cylinder powering the car. It was race prepped with CP pistons, Cuningham Rods - with a top secret compression ratio, an AEBS sleeved block, a head prepped by Vance and Hines, and an AEM EMS Engine Management System.

she made a couple runs at the NOPI Nationals @ Atco Raceway in NJ when I went on Sat, July 29, but i only watched one of them...i think she ran low 9's. gotta check if i recorded it on my camcorder.
i talked to a member of her team (forgot his name ) about the motor. besides the info. already stated above, apparently it has a 14.5:1 compression ratio, custom made cams they developed (he said they removed VVT-I), and converted to a throttle cable (no more drive-by-wire). if i recall correctly, I THINK the motor revs to 10K...
he also said that they've been working with AEM to test and release a plug-and-play EMS for the tC along with a drive-by-wire to throttle cable conversion kit. plus the team is planning to develop & release similar cams and other assorted parts for the tC hopefully in the next 3-6 months.
i'm only telling everyone what i was told, so take it for what it's worth. he me told to check www.scion-parts.com in a couple months...

SUPER THANKS! Now, if with all those parts and it is in only at 320whp, I think the boosted route would be a MUST now. I though it would be more easy to get to the 250whp...

That I know. But I was wondering about 250whp in N/A, and now that I have seen some of your serious mods, I was wondering if it could be achieved with 91 octane here in PR. I know money is involved, but I will still try to see what can be done. I want to build a reliable and balance car, but also to try to go away from the everyday croud. Nothing that screams "LOOK AT ME" but something that is actually functional.

Are you trying to build a race car or a street car ??? If you are trying to build a street car go FI. You can still keep it simple and not flashy with a turbo setup. You can also keep it reliable with the right engine managment. Hopefully AEM will have something for us soon.
If you are trying to do All Motor on 91 octane it is unlikely you would make 250 hp without detonating your motor to pieces first. I mean you might be able to make the power, if you switched it to race gas at the track, but because of the weight of the car the ET will not be that quick. Remember your ET is not all about Horsepower but HP to weight ratio.
I hope I didn't burst your bubble, trust me I love NA power, but I have seen people try and do it on the street time and time again. Every one of them has gone turbo in the end & been happier. Just want to spare you the heartache.
Now if you are someone who is just looking for 15- 20 more HP from your engine, by all means do your cyl. head, cams, header exhaust ....
