got smoked by a 2007 civic si..

i raced a old egg shaped si the like 05 or o4 in my xb2 and it was even i dont know what power those have but put a 75 shot on your tc for 500 bucks you will be able to ask him if you should get some get some clears so he could see when you braked you were so far off lol
#22
that, and the si has lsd stock, which helps it get off the line better.
also, with the higher redline and the extra gear, and high lift v-tech engine, the si has some good stock advantages against the tc.

yes its faster but drive it and it feels slower it has no tq at all kinda lame really no fun to drive and when you push it to redline it sounds like its going to blow up

the Si is deceivingly "slow" and the tC is deceivingly "quick".... torque does that to ppl.
The Si has closer gear ratios above 2nd gear compared to the tC. There are many aspects that make the Si a better platform to start with beginning w/ the motor and transmission.

and also hindered by high compression and low displacement the tc/xb motor takes boost like a champ i like si i like tc and xbs but when it comes down to it each to his own i prefer the torque and hey some like high end so it all depends

My boy rocks a 07 Scion tC with a Injen Intake, Tsudo N1 Catback system, Short Shifter, and DC Headers.... runs a 15.5 at the track
My other Friend drives a 07 Civic Si with only Dc Sport headers and exhaust system.. runs a 15.2 at the track....
Whocares505050 just bought a 08 Civic Si and runs a 14.8 i think and he it stock

Driver mod is the most important. I don't care how many 07 Si owners out there, the tC is not far behind if you drive it right. 15.1 with a Full exhaust system here, No pullies, No header, No intake. Given those mods extra, 14's would have been had. But that was a long time ago. The turbo replaced those options.

low torque yes.... but we got a quick high revving engine to make up for it.

JESUS...... again with this crap, someone needs to learn to search and to pay money back as well!!
you cannot, i repeat cannot compare a 17k compact coupe, to a 22k sport coupe, its just not a fair fight, my bro has an 08 SI sedan and we both have bone stock motors, i mean 100 percent stock, weve raced a million times and yes most of the time driver error makes the difference but the closes i have gotten to beating him, is half a car length, but most of the times, when we both shift perfectly its two car lengths from light to light,
also try not to race SI's from a roll, because then u just gave away ur greatest adavantage, i eat him up first and second
so please unless u have some kind of F/I, or the SI driver is a handicap, dont take on SI's and expect to win

Must have been a magical time. Had that been a 2.0 60 foot, would make the 07 Si a 13sec car, and we all know it's not a 13sec car. The stars must have aligned right for you on that run.

07 si sedan owner here.. i'm glad to finally see a place where people understand that a car with 160 HP isn't going to be as fast as a 200 hp car, even if it has a bit more torque.
TO the guy above me, get over the tc. I see you posting all over youtube about how comparable the TC is to an SI. the fact is you just saw a legit vid of an SI running a full second faster than the best time a TC will ever run.
The tc is a good car, I prolly wouldve gotten one if i wanted a coupe in all honesty. but the price differences aren't that much for what you get. i paid 19,700 and i got a fantastic trade-in deal for my car. for that little bit extra you get a more refined engine imo, better suspension, better gearing, and a better 'build' overall.
The TC is a good car, but it gets annoying when you see that odd TC owner like that rhytmsmoke guy saying that they're comparable in speed. they really aren't.
that being said, OP work on your driving and you could take an SI granted the driver was mediocre. I've seen several people running mid 15s in a bone stock SI, so it's not impossible.
