I have had to ban Peter (MaD_SCiONTiST_xB) due to a recent transaction with Josh (eVilcreations). Peter sold a carbon fiber hood, then shipped it via Fed-Ex. Somehow the hood was damaged during transit. Fed-Ex denied the shipping claim due to insufficient packaging, and Peter refused to work out compensation for the damaged goods. He basically stole Josh's money. I gave Peter and opportunity to work this out, and offered my assistance as a mediator, but he would not consider that. Peter is hereby banned from ScionLife for perpetrating fraud on another member. I will reinstate his account and remove this topic if/when Josh confirms that the conflict has been resolved.

The hood arrived a few days after that and was fairly badly damaged, but repairable. I contacted MaD_SCiONTiST_xB about it, and he proceeded with the fedex insurance claim. I have received a few(maybe 3) pm's from MaD_SCiONTiST_xB since that time only after about 15 pm's to him trying to get updates on what is going on with the claim. I pm'd him 3 times within about a 7 day time span, and STILL have not received any reply...he is actively posting on the forums so I know that he has had to have read my pm's.....and is just choosing not to respond for whatever reason. I posted in one of his other FS threads....not with any details, just with a "you need to respond to my pm's asap" post and somehow that got deleted.

If you could possibly lend some assistance with this I would appreciate it. This hood is useless to me in the condition it is in......I need that insurance $$ to get it repaired.

You can call fedex and try to get the issue fixed... I sent you the hood with no other damage then what was stated in my for sale post so I will take no fault for the additional damages fedex caused. I will NOT and I repeat NOT issue a refund due to the negligence of fedex.

Regardless of that fact, it is clearly not fair for you to punish the buyer for the damage. They sent you the money for your item, and whether it was the shipper's fault for damaging the hood, or your fault for packaging it poorly, I don't quite understand how you can argue that it was the buyer's fault that the hood showed up damaged.

I can tell from the attitude in your emails to Troy and the buyer that you have no intention of reimbursing the buyer for the money they sent you. I don't have much authority to force you to do anything, but if you do not work out an arrnagement with the buyer then I will have no choice but to ban you from the site and post a prominent topic about your tactics that everyone will see. I would hate to have to do this, but I can't tolerate fraud on the site and what you are doing is clearly fraudulent against the buyer.

Feel free to email or call me if you want me to help work out a solution.

I dont fraud anybody but i guess you people think that because i wont issue a refund for damage i didnt inflict on that hood... that thats fraud... lol... your funny.... and for your information as soon as i can find the letter fed-ex sent me, i will be giving evilcreations the claim info so he can work it out with fed-ex... i did what i could... and fed ex doesnt want to take the heat for what they did... and i'm definitly not gonna take it for them.

if yuou want to help work out a solution... by all means go ahead... but i will not issue any money

Hmmm, this seems like deja vu to me. I think recently there was an issue involving 2 members on here...Boxman and Toca about a sway bar, right?
I'm pretty sure you all know what occured between these two.
I'm curious to know why Scionlife is getting involved in this current matter when, if i remember clearly, Scionlife or Moderators wouldn't get involved with ANY transactions between members...isn't that one of the rules?
>>>>>>https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=34<<<<<<

So why is Scionlife getting involved in this matter???

Please settle disputes between yourselves, it is not the mod's or admin's responsibility to act as a referee if there is a disagreement.
There is not a rule that states that we will not get involved, just that we don't HAVE TO get involved and we prefer people to work it out between themselves.

However, when attempts have been made to rectify the situation and I can determine that one member is defrauding another then I will take steps to prevent it from happening again. For the protection of all other members, I will not allow people that knowingly rip off others to remain members on the site.

Too bad this happened, but I think it's commendable for SL to step in if they see reason to.

Yeah, it was insured... but this has happened to me before, too. I FedEx'd a Supra bumper across the country... and it was damaged along the way. I had packed it in a flimsy box and it was crushed. It was my fault for not packing it good enough and I had to refund the buyer.

Yup. If the package won't protect the contents during normal handling/stacking, it's the packer's fault, not the transport.

Maybe someone could do a packaging How-To / DIY.

There's a lot of oddly-shaped automotive parts in the world.

Seat brackets
Sway bars
hoods

Just a thought
