Default BEWARE: TurboCustomz + Gordon Race Engineering

I bought a flywheel and clutch from Charles back in February or March. It was around $500 and he came through quickly.
We then talked about other parts and how he could get them.
Because our first transaction went through so well, I ordered around $300 worth of other parts from him.
We also discussed head work, so I found a salvage head ($300+) and had it sent off to him.
He sent the wrong part out around the end of May or Early June, so I sent it back after discussing it with him.

Now, Charles has my head and my money.
I have been getting nowhere with the parts. It has been months.
I have reminded him several times.
He has said that he will send the parts several times.
The last time I heard from Charles was at the end of June.

I am not sure what to do now.
I was patient and trusting, but now I think it is too late to file for fraud with Paypal or my credit company.

I see that he is still selling stuff and I emailed him earlier this week.
I will be away on vacation so I can not do anything else for another week.

If you have suggestions, I will try when I return.

Watch out for this guy.

I have never done business with Charles. But I do believe that he has a decent rep around SL. Try PM'ing him, with a link to this thread, and I'm sure you will light a fire under his a$$ to get it into gear....lol. But he does not strike me as someone who would screw you over, even though I have never done business with him.

Like I said though proctorsilex, I have never done business with him, nor have I ever met him. I'm rarely in the Shop experience section (I didn't even know he sold stuff...lol). So, with that said, good luck and hope you get what you seek.

Yo Proc! Thought I would bring some things to your attention:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...t=turbocustomz

Just a little FYI....after a little digging around, there seems to be no business license for him in the KY Secretary of State (place where all business records are filed).

^He probably does business through his company he's with in Louisville called Automotion. Just pm him and you'll get your stuff. He's a good guy, hope it works out for the best.

Default UPDATE

I have had no progress.
Charles has not written back by email or PM on this board.

I have no idea what to do now.
Do any of you know about the BBB or anything that can be done across states?

Stay away from turbocustomz, Charles Gordon, and Gordon Race Engineering.

website no longer works

www.gordonraceengineering.com

I friend of mine that Charles use to rent some space from thinks he has the head there. I think there is some moeny owed so I do not know how that will all play out. Either way it has been left out side for a very long time and I would consider it junked at this point well at least the cams.

Still no update on this....Dang! Not even so much as a comment. Not to mention, I haven't seen him around the F/I section to much lately either.

You'll get through, I call him all the time for one thing or another. He's not sick or has been sued, he's got my car right now Give him a call and let us know what you find out.

Default UPDATE

i spoke with charles on the phone today. thanks again kytc.

charles said that he had to move suddenly because his lease ran out unexpectedly.
i think that gordon race engineering is now defunct because he did not want to invest further in it, so he is working with/for some place.

he said that my head is actually ready and that he has the other parts. he is supposed to be sending them soon now that he has my shipping and contact information again.

i will update again when i have more information.

if this works out, then i will probably be resuming my xa project.

nothing.
it has been a month and i have nothing to show for it.

i called over a week ago to check up, but he was unavailable so i left a message asking for a tracking number. of course, i never heard back.

if by some miracle even some small part of this issue is resolved, i will update.

i will try again this week, but, if it were not so before, it is pretty obvious now that i have been screwed.
