Hey Max, keep us updated on when you get your money back. OP also. Can you file anything against him through the police since your bank has his bank information.

Let this guy learn that scamming a couple hundred here and there is going to earn him some jail time. It will make others think twice before trying to join our honest community and do the same.

Ive been in a similar situation before. What I did was I opened up a paypal dispute, and sent comments to it for a couple days, explaining the situation and giving as much detail as possible, and asking nicely for the other person to please comment on it as well. In my situation, the other party didnt send one comment, and I knew paypal would be able to see that after 3 or 4 days with no reply on their behalf, that they knew they were in the wrong... So i escalated it to a claim to let them decide on the result. I ended up recieving a full refund.

Yeah well the thing with this is they told me because the money was sent as a gift as opposed as for goods or services that there really isnt anything paypal can do

If i ever find out who he is i'll just take him to judge judy and sue for 5,000 for the cost of the stereo plus my pain and emotional suffering

exactly why I never send pp gift. that 3% is self insurance. pp has been giving everyone refunds since the buyers rights bs came out. I had a macbook air and sold it on ebay, new macbook air came out and she wants a refund and gets it. fail lol.
