These kits ship either same or next day via priority mail. Should take about 3-5 business days after ordering.

Google "fake Philips.". Everything I've read says that Philips has never made a retrofit kit. I've also read that they never offered a bulb with a temperature over 4300k or 4800k. Just do your research.

We are still a pretty new sponsor on this forum, but have a much larger base on other Scion forums such as yoursciontc and clubsciontc. I'm sure someone on this forum will chime in and let you know they are awesome =].

Scream, no way trying to argue with you, but since this is in our sponsored thread, I will at least defend our kit. You can't believe everything you read online threads/blogs. For years people have made rules about which Philips kits are "real". Philips kits used to be believed that they include a security label that Philips can track. That they only come in KET connectors and not AMP connectors. KET connectors are pretty outdated now and are not used because its more difficult to find KET parts for replacements if things every go bad.

The rule about the color scale, yes they used to only make 43000K or 4800K for replacement D2R or D2S, but Philips Germany now sells their components to authorized Philips manufacturers. Our Philips kits are indeed authentic and are of top quality =].

Ok, but why does your name appear on the label? And why does the label say "original Philips?"

From their website:

NOTE : Xenon HID bulbs can only be used in vehicles that have HID lighting systems. They cannot be used as an upgrade in conventional headlights.
The Xenon HID bulb requires an electronic ballast and has an electronic starter for quick ignition.

As a dealer for Philips HIDs we are allowed to use a redesigned label that was produced from a Philips manufacturer to promote our company. A new label on the ballast has nothing to do with the authenticity of Philips products. The label says original Philips because they are Original Philips Xenon and are litterally Philips components from Germany.

Thank you for the link from their main website. In fact the second picture on the first post is from that same website as well. Yes the link states that "Xenon HID bulbs can only be used in vehicles that have HID lighting systems." An HID lighting system could be anything that includes HID bulbs with a HID ballast/electronic starter. Any vehicle with factory HID bulbs will have an ignitor or a ballast. That line mainly states that HID xenon bulbs themselves will require an electronic ballast or ignitor, which is also stated on the third sentence of your referenced statement. This is to ensure consumers awareness that HID bulbs cannot be purchased alone just to upgrade conventional headlights.

That statement does not however state anything about how they do not offer aftermarket kits. You do have a valid point that most consumers should be aware about though. The Philips main office and website will not advertise their aftermarket counter parts, but they offer authentic contracts to third party manufacturers that produce kits with their components. This is how dealers and businesses are able to offer Philips kits. As stated in your first post, consumers should do their research and research shows that there are several kits available on the market with Philips now. The classic Philips kit that comes with KET connectors and the newer Patent license kit that comes with AMP connectors. I hope my explanation makes a bit more sense. Please let me know if you have anymore questions, I am more than happy to help!

Dang I was looking to replace my 5k kit with 5k. How blue is the 6k cause I don't want too blue of a tint, otherwise I'll be going with the 4300k. Let me know if you know how blue the 6k kit it. I'll need two kits for the lows and fogs.

Thanks Meng!

Hello ScionJim,

We have 5k in V.1 which is our main hid kit line that we've been carrying since we started the business! However Philips aren't available in 5k at the moment =[. 6000K is considered a "cool" white, there is definitely a hue of blue in the light spectrum that is a bit hard to explain with words. We do have a simple color chart on our website and even have customer submitted photos on our Meng facebook that might help out a bit. I hope this helps!

Not a problem, I'll go with the 4300k. Thanks for the reply Meng. I'll most likely be ordering two sets of to 4300k soon. Thanks Again!

Do your kits work the first time you hook them up? I tried installing a POS Hid Extra Kit last night and couldnt get it to work for the life of me.

Remember, Aftermarket HID kits are reverse polarity, meaning the clips go on backwards. If your Kit isn't lighting up then you probably put it together the way it looks like it should go together but the harnesses clip together the reverse way. Either way, in my honest opinion, it appears HIDXTRA HIDs have become junk.

Thanks for understanding ScionJim! Sound good, I'm positive you will love the kits. Don't forget to use the coupon code on the first post to save some money. We might have a price increase since this is currently just an introductory price, but the coupon code will still work.

JDub, all our kits are tested before shipment to ensure they work before arrival =]. Yeah your kit might need to be reversed. So try reversing the male plug that goes into the ballast connection. If HID Xtra's kits are digital, reversing that male plug should not blow any fuses. It will only work one way if they are digital.

No specials yet =[. But we do have a new inventory coming in, in a few weeks so every kit will be back in stock.

We do have more H11 4300K in stock compared to other colors. Let me know if you are interested in 4300K and I'm sure I could give you a lower price.

I emailed Philips today, just to confirm your claims that these are in fact Philips kits.

Dear Michael,

As I informed you, HID Kits are not sold by Philips Automotive Lighting North America in the United States or Canada. They do not meet the required guide line for the department of transportation. I can not give you information about a company Meng Motorsport, because Philips Automotive Lighting North America does not sell HID kits to this company, due to the fact that the HID Kits are not sold by Philips Automotive Lighting North America in the United States. I suggest you contact Meng Motorsports. We can not provide information about a company if we do not supply the product to the company.

Best Regards,
Philips Lighting North America
I redacted the name, address, and contact information from this public post, but I will be happy to forward to a moderator or member of the SL staff if needed.

These kits are fake, phony, and are NOT what the sponsor is claiming that they are.
