Default Accidentally put wrong oil into my car.........

I drive an 07 tc and when I change my oil I always put the Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w20 in my car. I've did 7 oil changes on my car using the same weight and everything and then my 8th changed I picked up 5w30 instead of 5w20. Is it going to hurt my motor in any way? Should I do another oil change with 5w20 or i should be fine until next oil change?

i would just change it again. just to be on the safe side and not to void warranty.

well, the 05-06.5 tc's use 5w 30, and half way through the 06 year and beyond, they said 5w 20. not a big deal, but yeah, if you wanna be safe, put 5w 20 in it instead. not a big difference.

My tC takes 5w-20 and the dealership puts 5w-30 every time.

Ok, I do oil changes for a living right now and the difference in the 2 oils is so small that you wont notice any change in performance and it will not harm your engine in anyway. It also will not void your warranty.

Yes, now that you put in 5w30, your engine will start to experience a severe loss in power, and you will also notice significant decreases in fuel economy as your engine sludges with slime to the point where it nearly seizes.

In addition, your love life will suffer, and you will run slower, and get fatter. Your cholesterol will also go up.

Really, just don't worry about it =) . Dealerships do it all the time because they're too cheap to buy proper oil. Just use 5w20 next time, or just drain out the oil and put 5w20 back in if you want.

I know both are safe and blah blah. I'm not here to ask if my engine will blow up or my love life will suffer, lol. (That was pretty funny though!!)

But i do have one question. I have used 5W-30 since day one.... over 30 oil changes, and this past time all they had was 5W-20. So thats what i got. My question is, since they came out in mid 06 to say that 5W-20 is the new recommendation, is that only for 06 and up tCs. I don't think there were any engine changes between 05-06. only small changes between 06-07

Oh and BTW i'm 05
