Default Belt change

When should I change to engine belt? I have 63,000 miles on the car now, I think I hear it making noise sometimes. What belt do I use? and about how much do they cost.

thanx

Default belt replacement...

I just changed my belts a couple weeks ago (55k)...Nobody carries the belts for our cars, so go to the stealership. Separate powersteering belt and serpentine accessary belt(water pump, compressor, alternator). I dont like what the dealers charge, so I bought the belts and did it myself... It's a job to do it. You have to remove the passenger front wheel and wheelwell cover to get in there- and its still a tight squeeze. Don't expect to be able to do it in 10 min. or anything....but it's a lot cheaper than having them put it on for you.

btw...the lower position adjuster bolt on the alternator must have been tightened down by the hulk or something (so if you use wd40 or something make extra care not to get any on the pulleys),and it is damn near impossible to get to.
