Yeah, I totally need to clay my front bumper on the box.
It's clean, but it's cradered from small rocks and other crap.
I'm sure I can make it look better if I get off my **** and clay it.

I'm probably putting an order in this week to try out some new
products. I'll post next week after I give the stuff a try!

Yes I keep NXT on it. But I don't do a full detailed waxing on it each month. Because NXT is just "wax" it doesn't clean, it just protects your paint.

I gotta say thanks for the link to autopia. I spent half the day learning all about caring for my car. My father was the kind of person who washes his car once every few months, and never waxes etc, so I'm in awe right now. So much to learn... and buy : p

Yeah, it is expensive, and time consuming. But if you plan
on keeping your car for more then 3-5 years, you absolutely
need to take care of the paint.

I should take a photo of my dads Eclipse. That should be
the poster child of what happens when you let your paint
go to hell...put the fear in some people! LOL

I've become such a geek about this, I actually went out and
bought an adapter for my kitchen sink to hook up a water
hose to. I'm in an apartment, so this is the only way I could
figure how to wash the box without driving over to my parents
house once (or twice) aweek.

I used it last night right when I got home from work. It's
great to be able to come home from a crappy day at work
and relax washing the box. My neighbors think I'm nuts, but
the end results had them all coming out asking if I could do
their cars too. LOL

it seems to me the initial phase of getting into nice washes/waxes (exactly where I am right now) is the most expensive phase. right now I'm buying and trying different stuff. I just got a bunch of stuff from the Home Depot and washed/waxed my car (the best it's looked so far), but after reading some threads here I splurged on a Porter-Cable 7424 buffer and some Klasse all-in-one and sealant.

now I'm thinking I need to clay bar the front. I love the look of my tC, but the front end is splat city for bugs.

in about 2 weeks I'll have pics and opinions of...

mr. clean auto dry wash + Porter-Cable 7424 + Klasse products

I can't wait for my goodies to arrive...

Hey CBG, that's cool that you are TW sponsored. I was
wondering when they were going to pull out of their rut and
make some real wash and wax products.

In your opinion, do any of the TW products REALLY stand
out? Or are they simply on Par with Meguires and the like?

I know that's hard to say when you are sponsored, but I'm
curious. I've never seen any higher end TW stuff.

Aireck, I wouldn't worry about it. There are still people out
there that use dawn dish detergent to wash, and brillo pads
to scrub their wheels and Armor All for their interior stuff.
Generally the damage does take some effort! LOL
Just read up on some of the How To links a bunch of us
have posted here in the forums, and just take care of your
paint/chrome/rubber/plastics/glass from this point forward.

Funny, just this last weekend I had three different people
(one being from Scion Evolution) ask if I had gotten new rims,
and/or why my box looks better and better every time they
see it! All I did was take care of it, and it looks better then
factory finish!

Hey amazing writeups all and great info...im kind of a newbie myself and have learned alot.....must agree it does feel good to after doing your car up nice!!!

I have a Question though....my uncle swears buy the Eagle One Teflon Wax and says it has no cleaners or stuff to strip the paint. He says that it maintains good bead action and is also UV protective and since i live in South Florida i need a UV protectant....DOES anyone know or have used this stuff or maybe has a suggestion?????

Also one more question!!! I bought some Mequirs Quick wax stuff...Is that good for in between waxes with the real stuff??? And has anyone used it????

I've never used the Eagle One stuff before. But it's about the same as the Meg's NXT. I suggest you use that IMO. It does have a slight cleaner and polish in it. But nothing to strip the wax. And is a good wax to use to maintain protection from the sun as well as other elements too. But again it's just a "wax" it isn't going to clean or polish your car like a "cleaner" and a "polish" will. I use a cleaner, usually Megs' #80 or 83 and a polish, #7 and then I go with NXT and then sometimes I will use Meg's #26 Yellow Wax as a topper. And this is all done using my Porter Cable 7424 DA Buffer.
