Default Best product to polish and shine hazy headlight covers?

I've noticed for awhile that my lexan headlight covers have a certain haziness or fogginess to them, which seems to be on the outside of the lens. Just blacked-out the inside of my headlights, and that makes the problem more obvious, also very noticable when the lights are on at night.

I assume the problem is from harsh cleaning products ect. How do I make the covers shiny and crystal clear again? I remember a long time ago I heard toothpaste was good for polishing clear plastics, but would like some confirmation before trying it.

Also, any other products/suggsetions?

Thanks in advance.

Heathen, you are THE MAN! I owe ya one...

Did some reading up on the PlastX, found it at the local auto parts store. Holy crap! the lights are now shinier and clearer than new, literally.
It's not a rub on once and wipe deal, you apply alot with a MF pad, buff till it's mostly gone, and wipe with a cotton towel. I did each light maybe 7 times, each time more of the haze and cloudiness was gone. After about 20 minutes they look awesome.

A few pix-

I know it's hard to see with the reflections, but they are mad shiny...

Boxer approved!

Try Mothers metal polish. I use it on all my plastic and plexi stuff. Makes it look new for alot less.
