Default Break In Period??

I've heard so many different things. The manual says no hard breaing, no revving of engine and don't drive at a constant speed for too long. Do I still have to keep it under 55 - 60 mph like my friend says? And how long is "long period of time", does that mean change speeds every 5 mins? 10 mins?
