Well, I just paid almost $300 for a faulty Master Cylinder on my xA.

I had to pay because the dealer said "Your car has been modified, so I have to assume you did something to the brakes."

They said they found a "Foreign Substance" in my brake fluid.

Then they told me they found DOT 5 Brake Fluid in my Brake Fluid tank.

Then they told me that when you lower a car, you are supposed to bleed the brakes.

Then they wanted to charge me $3000 to replace the entire brake system.

Be careful where you go.

hmmmm what mod have you done on your car? because legally, they cant say that unless they can prove for a fact that it was your mod that caused the problem. ex: you install a new stereo and the engine dies, they cant say that it was your mod that cause the problem.

what dealership did you go to?

That reasoning is absurb!

In the 16 years ive been modding cars, I have never ever heard of that! Bleed your brakes after you lower your car? Give me a f'in brake (no pun intended). If anything lowering your car a couple of inches will improve your braking.

Its like saying after you put your exhaust on you have to give your car and oil change.

*middle finger* to that dealership! Id like to know who dealership told u that.

Those guys are imbeciles or they have some really gullible customers.

Uh oh We put it up on the rack, better bleed the brakes. Maybe they meant to say alignment, which you don't need ot do either...

Maybe we should e-mail Toyota Corp about the dealer's screwing us. Making idiotic excuses of not fixing our car's.

Sorry to hear about your car Bro. Thant sucks! Anyway, I'm a little confused about dealer attitudes about warranty work. Perhaps people can explain it to me. If something goes wrong on my xB and it falls under warranty, who pays? I would think that the dealers would want to get warranty work. Doesn't Toyota foot the bill? Or are the dealers thinking that they can get more for their work if it comes out of our pockets. Can you try keep trying dealers until you find one that will take it under warranty?

Minsk99, the answer is yes, find a dealer who will repair it under warranty. Believe it or not, there are some good dealerships out there. Too bad the nasty ones give them all a bad name.

If it's under warranty, both parts and labor is covered. Yes, there are dealers that love to obtain more money and say stuff like "that ScionLife decal added 3HP, sorry you just voided the powertrain warranty. Write me, not the dealer a check for $3000."

Yes, you can absolutely go fromone dealer to the next to take care of warranty work. One dealer may not even fix the problem while another will. In most cases, look for dealers that offer free loaner cars for warranty work. I went to this dealer for a warranty issue (auto, vibration at stop) thats part of Toyota Rent A Car program (TRAC?). They gave me a fully loaded '04 Avalon with only 40miles on it as a loaner...sweet....droooll leather!!

Power Toyota of Cerritos.

Look them up on the Better Business Bureau website, you'll be very surprised.

It seems like everyone in the Cerritos Auto Square are a bunch of ___*OLES... I've delt with Acura, Honda, Lexus, Toyota, and Nissan... All of them pitched an attitude. I can't stand Cerritos Auto Square.

The only time they are cool with you is when you get an oil change, other than that don't expect a straight answer.

You really had to pay to have your mastercylinder replaced? I thought we all covered the law that shows if what we did to modify our car caused the problem then it is our fault, however if what we modifed did not cause the problem than the dealer has to take care of it.
And according to my research, it says no where that you need to bleed the system when you lower the car, becuase the brake system does get any air in the closed system when you lower. :? freakin dumb excuess.

Back on topic Update us on the motor mount.

Yes, because they found a "Foreign Substance" in my brake fluid. So, it's not covered under warranty. So, after that I had the car towed to Cabe Toyota.

After the way I was treated @ Cerritos, I don't trust them anymore.

Great news :D I'm glad they didn't try to wiggle out of that one.

Hope they don't find anything else wrong while they're in there!
