Default bug guts!!!

ok so i didnt wash my car for about 3 months after driving it 2000 miles (left the country after the road trip) and when i got bak i noticed the bug cuts are basically etched into the paint. is there any way to remove these?? i tried using bar/tar remover, claying, washing, waxing, yelling, etc...

Hmmm, I heard using a wet microfiber towel and laying it on the front end of the car to "rehydrate" the bugs, and after 10 minutes or so try to wash them off. Afterwards, try some bug/tar remover again and then clay bar. You may need to order some of the more aggressive clay bar from meguiars that they don't sell in the stores.

If all that doesn't work, I havn't a clue. I get tough bugs but they usually come right off with either a wash or clay bar session. Just might take some work.

I also like to wax my front end a little more then the rest of the car (like an inbetween waxing of front end) just to prevent bugs from etching in so easily.

Hopefully you can get them off!

if they are etched in like you say they are, then you are gonna need somebody with a buffing machine and a good compound to get it out...where do you live OP, like what stat?

i had several bug/sap stains on my finish, Most of them came out with claying, the ones that didnt I used Stone's Bug remover, and if that still didnt work, i used a swirl mark remover. If the swirl mark remover doesnt work you may have to be more aggressive and go to a cutting polish, or rubbing compound.

If you are too lazy to clay bar then you can try using a Dryer sheet.

Yes, I said a dryer sheet, the stuff you put in the dryer to make your clothes smell good....lol.

All you do is dunk it in a bucket of water then gently go over the bugs and stuff with it. It works like a charm. Just be sure to wash off the car with regular car wash soap afterwards because it will leave streaks.
