spray it on good and heavy then ley it sit for a min or 2 then rinse it off while rubbing with a sponge.

^^ It's ok, its the only scrubby pad that's ok to use.
Since I am able to wash my car every 2-3 weeks, I usually just wash. Sometimes I have to clay. That's it.
And yes, Meg's 5:1 is actually pretty effective, although I found that out on accident. Ahem
I usually just spray some Purple Power lovebug stuff just to get the actual insect off.
But then again it's also about keeping the paint surface protected... I use Collinite 845 and Aquawax now. Effective combo.
Oh, and I need to clay the windshield just about every week, too. It's also important to put osmething on the windshield... I just use Rain-X, although Aquawax works too. Makes the surface slick and easier to clean (and especialyl dry)

Dunno about love bugs, but last time I had a bugfest I used this stuff called "Nature's Miracle" - I use it to clean up bunny pee! They've got the usual marketing jive on the bottle, something about enzymes, so I thought what the heck. Spray, wait a minute or two, wipe. Beats the heck out of the bug and tar remover I'd been using.
