I used the protectant sealer, and it too the bug stuff off and the ones that I have had on it since then wipe right off. I am going to try some of the turtle stuff though. Sounds like it did the job.

YIKES! i would never take sand paper to my scion's paint. i have taken it to my 97 corolla's paint and had great results after a proper polish.
scion's paint can barely handle 2500 grit sandpaper
Believe me, I know. I acutually got to the primer on my hood while lightly sanding a patch of touch-up paint. DON"T USE sandpaper on a Scion, even 2500 grit while wet sanding!

Actually I believe this to some extent . When I used to process and inspect toyotas , part of the process was to remove the plastic wrap . Sitting out in the hot florida sun the plastic wrap would cause "ripples" in the paint where the wrap was attached to the paint . We would leave the cars out in the sun for a few hours and the "ripples" would dissappear . Maybe its the paint itself that resets itself , or maybe its the imperfections burning off . But I have seen this first hand happen

I don't think wearing panty hose will help with the bug removal! lol

You could use Pam Cooking Spray so the bugs dont stick to your paint. LOL..

Use a Clay Bar and keep the front waxed. Helps tremendously. Or you can use a Clear Bra which works really great for bugs
