Castrol Edge - Anyone?

Castrol Edge - Anyone?
So these people have a pretty bold claim against Mobil 1... offering "8x better wear protection."
http://www.castroledgeusa.com/
I checked the site and the test results they show... they explain the test fair enough but don't really give complete results. Just that the Edge did 8x better.
I know a LOT of people on here use Mobil 1... anyone considering switching to the Edge? Or already have?
Not that I would expect much difference in it under normal usage, but curious what others think. I'm probably going to stick with my Mobil 1 unless someone had some really convincing argument not to.
(and no, I don't care about the other oils you're using or what you recommend using - just curious about Edge as compared to Mobil 1 or other synthetics)

That said, VOAs show high levels of metallic additive elements in Edge. This is a rare thing from a major motor oil maker these days and is in stark contrast to M1 xW-30. Not enough UOAs done ywt to really tell how well it performs, but it looks good so far.
Im sticking with PP as it outperforms M1 in my engine and is less expensive as well. PP UOAs show virtually no wear, below average TBN and little insolubles.

But ya, I didn't really think about that anyway - given that it doesn't come in 5w-20, not many new tCs would be running it if anyone was at all.
It just seems like such a big claim for something they give very vague results for on their site. But yes, marketing is a *****. I just figured I'd get people's thoughts on it.

I am with HeathenBrewing, Pennzoil Platinum for me as well. I ran PP 0W20 and did a UOA after, the report showed that wear was below average across the board.
Actually, here is the UOA for you to see:
As you can see, wear metals are all below average. Note, the silicon comment was only because at first, they used the averages from the OLD xB engine, not the 2.4L one. This is the "amended" report in which they just "corrected" the average values. So really, silicon (air filtration/sealers) is not an issue. It wasn't before either, as my wear was so low.
Edge is overpriced and is yet to prove itself. Save some money and stick with other oils for now. But really, whatever you pick will do a great job, its just how much you want to pay. PP is one of the cheapest, and one of the best performing as you can see. It is a win-win situation!

First of all regular Mobil 1 isn't what I would call "synthetic". There's very clear indication that regular Mobil 1 is now a Group III oil. Group III oils are heavily refined conventional oils that under US law can be called "synthetic". So these claims that Castrol Edge is better than Mobil 1 are probably true, because Edge is a true synthetic while M1 isn't. However, and this is key, Mobil 1 Extended Performance is a true synthetic oil and you won't see Castrol making those claims againts that particular type of oil, because both Edge and EP are very similar.
Just FYI it's Castrol's fault that Group III oils can be called synthetic. They started, and still are, doing this with their Syntec line up. Exxon sued them, and lost. Now Exxon has to take a page out of Castrol's playbook and start selling a cheap Group III oil, and they have to market it as "Synthetic" in order to stay competitive. The old Mobil 1 formula is still available though, but it is now marketed as M1 Extended Performance.
In a nutshell....
Castrol Edge and Mobil 1 Extended Performance are true synthetics. Castrol Syntec and regular Mobil 1 are not.
