CD Player Skip - Service Bulletin?

CD Player Skip - Service Bulletin?
Does anyone know the service bulletin number for the single-disk player skipping problem? I'm coming up on my first service and the bulletin might be helpful in assuring the service people that there is a known problem.

The single disc player has been updated because of a few instances of intermiitent pauses. The bulletin has the part number for the new unit on it. The dealer can order the new unit and replace it for you if your car's still under warranty, which I'm sure it still is.

What if the dealers CANNOT DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM???
I have this stupid troble before that my car is acting weird for few days, but when it get to the dealership, its okay again
My skipped, but not everytime I play it...
So, should I just ask for a replacement?

As far as the other concern about having to reproduce the problem, simply knowing that the problem exists should be enough. It's not a court of law and you don't have to prove anything. If Toyota says that a defect exists, they pay the dealer for fixing it. It's free money to the dealer.

I took the car in, showed the service writer the TSB number, and he pretty much shuffled it off, saying in his best reassuring voice "they'll know what to do."
Next day, they call my wife and tell her "we can't reproduce the problem so we can't replace the unit" She tells them again about the TSB and the service writer says that he can't do anything about it, it's the service manager's decision.
We went down to get the car, and talk to the service manager, showing him the posts from Scion Life and giving him the TSB number. He takes the number and goes behind the counter into an office. We hear the following coming from the office:
Unseen Bigwig: "Didn't you tell them that the problem can't be reproduced?"
Service Manager : "mumble"
UB: "What TSB is this?"
SM: "The customer brought it with him?"
UB: "Well, order him a new radio!"
Then the service manager comes back out, and tells us we'll have to bring the car back in 4 or 5 days to get the new head installed.
That's where things stand now. The car was down for a day, but we'll have to bring it back later to get the new radio installed.
Moral: If you take your car in to have the radio replaced, make sure that the TSB number is written onto the service order. In our case, it wasn't, the mechanic just slapped a CD in the player for a minute, said "it works fine" and wrote "can't reproduce" on the paperwork.
I'm still angry over the way I was treated. What illicit profit would there be for me to have them take apart my new car to replace a single-disk player with another single disk player? It wasn't until I just about rubbed their noses in the service bulletin that they agreed to do what they are supposed to do as a matter of course.
We'll see how quickly the replacement head arrives and how competently they install it. My confidence not high at this point.

Exactly what I was trying to say...
Most dealers will call you up few hours later and tell you to pick up your car when they cannot REPRODUCE the problem...
I hope in my case this will work...
If you have like aftermarket shift ****... maybe they will blame on it and say it makes the CD player skip...

Anyway, the service manager's boss did finally figure out what the TSB said and acted properly on it, at least as far as ordering the radio.
It seems like everybody at this dealer below that level is programmed to say "we can't reproduce the problem" unless smoke is billowing out from under the dashboard. This is not the way to treat customers, particularly ones you are trying to convince to patronize the service department regularly.

All I said when I took my xB in was that my Head unit would mute the sound intermittently every once and awhile. I told the service managaer that I had heard of a PANT bulletin and they then promptly replaced the head unit....that is, they ordered a new head unit for me and then a few weeks later when it came in I had to take it back in for them to replace it for me.
