Default Cruise Control Rattle and getting stuff fixed

When I am driving down the road i can hear this rattle sound. I narrowed it down to the Cruise Control handle (not aftermartket). To get it to quiet down some i just have to grab the **** on the front and back and give a little squeeze and it will almost go away. Has anyone else had this happen?
AND...
When I go to the dealer for rattles and stuff like that do I need to call ahead to tell them and to make an apoointment or do I just go up there, and what do I tell them?? Never had a new car before so I have never had a dealership fix anything. I usually have fixed the noises and everything else myself.

Thanks
Steve-o

I suggest calling them to see how they handle squeeks and rattles. Each dealership does things a little differently depending on their staff.

I have the same problem with my cruise. There are three little screws on the back.
I plan on taking the back off and insulating it with a little silicone. i'll let you know
how it goes.

Default Question ????

Dose Scion install a factory cruse control??? Cause I asked about cruse control and was told that the xB did not come with a factory cruse control, But after market cruse control could be instaled by the deeler.Of course there was a hefty fee for the cruse control and the instalation which is why I did not get it!! So wht is the story??? Did i get jacked by the deeler?

There is no Scion factory cruise. There is a Rosta cruise control unit that is sold by the Southeast toyota distributor on their Scions that looks almost factory. Those of us on the west coast cannot get cruise from the distributor, but some dealers will add one.

You can buy the southeast cruise on E-bay, IIRC.

Yes, the factory does install cruise control but there's two major distributors for Toyota in the US and one is southern Toyota that pretty much covers everything south of Virginia but not Virginia. They offer lots of options and the other distributors don't. It costs $350 from the dealer.
