Did parts give me wrong oil filter?

If you look at the threads I linked above, you'll see more than numbers changed.
The older design was odd and looked to be more restrictive in flow. The new YZZF1 is more like the other filters in design, and I did see flow numbers which are good.
All in all, looking over the options, the only one you don't want to use is the YZZF2.
The others will work, but since the YZZF1 is current and by the data, appears to be the best, I use those.
As I linked to, trdsparks.com has 10-paks for $35.

My two cents - Get the longest one that still has the same thread count. Longer filter = more filtration area. I know I have been using a different Toyota filter than what came on the box (recommend by the parts dept.) and My box takes just over 4 qts to fill. I have been doing this since my first oil change at 500 miles.
If you want to know the exact part number I use, try searching using my name and the maintenace section as the two filters.

"If you want to increase your engines oil capacity you can add a bigger filter.
Toyota part number 90915-YZZF1. Install of that filter does NOT affect warranty at all.
The service manager assured me that it would have no negitive effects on the motor. A case of 10 cost me $32.50, cheaper than most oil filters and you know that it is of high quality…maybe not the best filter, but IMO the best filter for $3.25."

There are only two things that matter with an oil filter (assuming all else to be normal)
1) Flow
2) Filtration
Improvements in one or both of these help the engine run better and last longer.

This is what I've heard and why I only buy the YZZF1 and don't even consider those cheap ones you can get from the store (which apparently don't have such valves).
I'd like confirmation of said fact, if anyone can help me out.
And just for the record, the FAQ here says YZZF1 for the tC... I bought some from the dealer, the guy handed me YZZF1s... and the oil filter I pulled off (first oil change) was also a YZZF1. Just a FYI if anyone was curious.

Im assuming the tC faces downwards?

Looking at filters is a mediocre way to compare them.
Real testing on flow and filtration matter.
I've read - and I don't have any links - that the current YZZF1s are a superb filter.
Good pix on the site, but as they say, don't judge a book by it's oily cover...
Thanks for the link.
