Do I need to torque the oil drain plug?

Default Do I need to torque the oil drain plug?

That is all I want to know. If so, what are the specs.? Already did a search. Thanks to all.

it should be tight but the spec is 28 ft llbs.

turn it till it seem tight, i've never had a problem doing it that way

30ft.lbs. on a tC, you should be fine so long as you don't overtighten it.

you only need to hand tighten the plug.

I think you mean the oil filter, not the oil plug, which is what we're talking about.

You should use a new crush washer and torque it every time you change your oil.
Think that's over-the-top?
Try getting a new oil pan, or worse, losing your oil while driving.
Don't take shortcuts.
