Default Engine noise during cold start

Hi i was wondering if any of you guys can help me out with this. I live in a cold region, Buffalo NY, every morning when i start my car i let go of the clutch you hear like this ariplane flying pass noise from my engine, i thought it was an airplane but it happened too many times. When i step on the clutch the noise goes away. Then ofcourse when the engine is warm its gone. Please help me here anyone.

The engine will rev higher and sound funnier when cold. Not exactly sure what you're describing, though. What are you driving?

Hey thanks for replying, i thought i was a loner for a sec. I drive a 05 tC yes i am aware that it revs higher on cold starts, but in the back ground there is a diffrent sound, sounds like an airplane flying pass.

I can't imagine what it would be. Could you possibly record it?

I can't record it, its like a back ground noise when u let go of the clutch its there. I think its the transmission oil, i drive this thing in the cold alot, so i found another guy with the same problem he heard it before like her changed the oil and he havn't yet, but he lives in PENN state so its not that cold like here, it should be the transmission oil, thinking about it, it makes sence u let go clutch engine and tran engaged sound comes, u step on it, tran engine not engaged anymore sound is gone. what do u thnk?

Sorry I don't have an answer for you either, but you may get more help with this question in another area, so I am moving your thread to Maintainence & Car Care.

I would have to hear it but it could be your input shaft bearing.

is your car auto or manual? if its auto u need to get it checked out, but if its manual depending on ur miles the tranny oil needs to be changed and maybe u need an oil change to. Other than that ur pistons probably bent.

i got an engine noise question, but it's not just for cold starts...

when my engine is running i can hear a constant rapid ticking noise. especially loud when the hood is open, but i can hear it inside the cabin as well. i'm not too familiar with mechanics, i was wondering if this is normal...
the sound is comming from about a foot right of the center of the engine bay. it's just a consistant ticking sound that is alway ticking.

just wondering if it's normal.
and if so, what is it?
thanks

The ticking noise is normal, all the tC have it. It's a sound coming from the intake.
