First xB to take a dump? **UPDATE**

If you did not do anything to the engine, or any mods that would cause this you have nothing to loose.
Call michael finney at KGO radio san francisco, CA. His radio show, finney on your side would loveto hear about this one. they will even go to bat for you, call them and pressure them about this. Even if you are in another state. go do a search on KGO 810 radio, it will come up.
Also call the bureau of automotive repair get a claim form.
On my 2000 VW Jetta I pushed lemon law, and aventually after 3 transmissions, and over 40 days out of service I got a new VW. it isnt hard but it isnt easy.
Tell the rep your father is a lawyer, and you are going to consult with him.
If you DID do mods to void the warranty. Pay the $650, dont say anything, and hope they realize the fault was their own....

Its head butt time.
I bought the 6 year/100000 mile warranty and screw that. I bought it so all i would pay from now til it expires is plugs, brakes, filters, and OIL. Anything else and they screwed me

Weak, i thought scion would make a bigger effort to at least make the first generation scion owners proud to have bought from them, not give people a reason to think twice about buying one because of the service.

i have already had two toyotas in my life time, and they have been great cars maintenance wise, but EVERY service department i have dealt with so far has treated me like a retard. my trany wouldnt shift out of first gear, and i was like, "check the electonics, thats the problem" they wanted to pull the tranny. After i told the guy regardless of procedure i would give the mechanic 50 bucks, he did and guess freakin what, it was a 5 dollar wiring harness.

I saw something recently on the web about a defective on late 1990's toyota camery's have a problem with sludge build up in the oil pan which I think ruined the engine. They denied it was a problem and blame it on the customers. But finally just recently they came out with the truth that it was a design flaw. I think there was a website dedicated to this maybe you can find it and see how these people got their problems solved with their cars.
