its funny, everytime I mention how the floormats are covered, someone tells me that it is considered normal wear and tear(you know from our shoes) therefore it would not be covered. Regardless, I'm looking forward to replacing my floormats at least 4-5 times in the next 2.6 years/29K mi...whichever comes first

This is awesome. Wish I had known that for my truck floormats. They wore thin too. I just got my car so it may be a while. Knowing this, I will not baby them as I was trying to do.
Probably replace them every once in a while too. IMO they should only replace the cloth portion since it is what will wear, not the rubber underneath. Now, how do we wear out the mat in the hatch? I might want a new one before the warranty is up. But that is a few years down the road.

Does anyone know if they only cover them if you got them with the car? I didn't get the carpeted Scion mats yet, because I knew I'd be wanting rubber, all-weather mats for winter. I was planning on buying the carpeted Scion mats in the spring. If I get them through the dealer, do you think they will warranty them against early wear?

i would assume so. you could easily try i'm pretty sure they wouldnt go receipt searching. but you better majke damn sure they really are oem and not knockoffs. i wonder what the stealerships consider normal wear and tear versus a crappy quicker than should be wearing piece?

I also use those wal-mart mats, I have them over the stock mats they work great.
I get in and out of the car with a wet suit on and wet shoe's and they hold all the water that comes out of my shoe's. (Freestyle Jet Ski)
