Fuel Injector Cleaner...How often?
#3
What is your OCI?
The best way to minimize or eliminate the need for injector cleaning is to use a quality brand of gasoline that contains sufficient detergent to prevent varnish buildup. Most brand name gasolines today have enough detergent to do this. As a rule, premium grades usually contain a somewhat higher concentration of cleaners.
You can also use fuel tank additives to keep your injectors clean. Such products really arent necessary if youre using quality gasoline. But if youre buying the cheapest gas you can find, using an additive might be good insurance.

you dont need it, see all gas has to meet the same standards for the gov. now chev, shell and others charge more because they have added detergents, so thats why they claim cleaner burning fuel with no build up.

It also helps to run the car "hard" to clean the injectors. I've noticed customers who run their cars "hard" on the highway, have no running problems with the injectors cause all the force of the fuel pump pushing the fuel thru, is cleaning off the debris and carbon off of them.

Like most have said it is not hurting. For added insurance I add a bottle every 5k so year I do it with ever oil change. And like Metro273 run hard . or harder then normal driving on the high way. Let your motor breath. when you have a tank of FI Cleaner Don't tap redline, but keep the car at the optimal rpm for HP..

sometimes i redline the engine just to clear out all the crap that's accumulated and once in a while, i would fill up with premium gas for the higher addictives to clean the injectors and engine. but with gas prices and all, i guess i'll start buying some fuel injector cleaner and just dumping it in. cheaper than the rest.

I had my fuel injectors cleaned once at 50,000 miles, and oh my god did it make a difference. I'd recommend maybe doing it every other oil change, if not sooner.

we have a fuel injection cleaning where we hook up a bottle of intake cleaner and shop air to clean the throttle body, intake valves and piston surface.
i use it every time before i change my plugs. works good for me. rec every 30K
im not too big on anything in the tank. i run usually BP or Citgo.. down here they're the best in town.
