Default Gas station preference?

I always hear people saying "I only go to X fuel center, because the other guys .....".

So, do you have a brand you are loyal to? If so, why? Have you experienced better MPG, or maybe you had a bad experience with another brand?

I go to shell.
1. They have competitive prices
2. I have a shell mastercard so i get 5% off gas purchases
3. shell is a top tier company

I was going to 76 but I'm going to Shell for a while. I used to always use Shell and Chevron because of their prices and quality.
76 just sort of happened since I moved out West.

I use Shell 99% of the time because I have a gas card with them.
Since the merger with Texaco, there are tons of Shell stations in Southwest WA.

I'm not leery of other gas, except Arco. It seems too cheap to be good, IMHO.

I generally use Chevron by preference because of the consistancy of their fuel. I have used other brands, also, and each time I have seen an actual, measurable drop in miles per gallon. This includes gas from other top-tier companies purchased locally.

When travelling I attempt to use Chevron, but am not all that picky - so long as it is a top tier company I will use their gas.

Usually whoever is cheapest....usually BP in my area. Won't go to Grocery store gas stations or little unknown ones unless I have to.

Shell every time, I have never put other gas in mine, but I am open to doing so on a trip, so long as it is from a top-tier company.

Safeway or Costco when at home, Arco, Valero, BP, whatever is cheaper and isn't coming from the big 3 that are in collusion over gas prices and on top of that, usually charge huge interest rates to their cardholders.

A bottle of Techron from Costco every 5,000 miles...

The way I see it, the EPA has standards and there's only 3 refiners in CA if I'm not mistaken, yet how many retail gas brands???

I always go to Chevron cuz I have a credit card there. Never had a problem there. I did have a bad experience with Arco. Seemed like i was running on water.

SHould have poured it on the ground and blew the place up. I am kidding incase anybody thought I was serious. Been using Sunoco, BP, Shell and the dealer put their free tank of Get-Go gas in it when I bought it. Started on 93 then went to 87(Damn Hurricanes) and the past tank and one I am currently working on are 93 from Shell and BP (weekend roadtrip )

QT
Shell
BP

QT is all over atlanta. Shell i would say has the cleanest gas (since Mobil isn't around here) and BP is just plain everywhere

I once heard that the RED WHITE BLUE gas stations have the best quality oil. Example Mobil ... Exon So I always went to those. But since I started reading post here on SL I've been only going to shell stations for the last have year. Thats the only place I go, I travel five miles just to go to a shell station cause some said their, the best?

I still have my sunoco card because my family bought me one back in the day, and used to pay for it too!

I recommend Citgo because it is owned by Venezuela which is providing heating oil to poor people in Massachussetts and NYC at a 40% discount. This is going on while other oil companies are making huge profits and the politicians are voting tax breaks for them.
