any problems going to the gas pump in there xB. While pumping gas, the pump "clicks" over as if it was done pumping. anyone else experiencing this problem? it's about the 3rd time for me. Is it probably the gas station i am going too? i have gone to two of them so far and both do the samething. Someone told me it was air in my gas tank? i dunno. any help would help. thanks for listening!

it could be the way your pumping gas. If the pump handle sense any gas backlashing into the handle it supposed to shut off. this is usually dedicated to not having the neck of the handle in deep enough or at an incorrect angle. Ive had it happen once. But the wifes 96' Ford Escort was notorious for it. But, they already know they have a problem, they put a circle around it...

I havn't had any problems fueling up, except for this crummy Arco in Pico Rivera CA. . . I think it must have been the pump and not the car or me. . .

I was fillin up as usual, and am wondering why the hell it was taking so long; I almost never fill up more than 9 gallons, and then

KABLOOSH!!!!!!!!! FUEL sprayin everywhere. I don't know if I was more ____ed about soakin my clothes, or hurting the paint, or losing $2.40! I hate Arco, and they aren't even that cheap with the $.25 ATM fee they slap on. . . for me it's always Costco gas, it's decent quality and damn cheap.

Everytime I fill up this occurrs. To remedy the situation, I pull the pump a little bit up and out, that seems to solve the problem. :D

Yeah 3xw is right, just leave the fuel handle out a little bit.

Or you can try using a lower hands free pump clip instead of pulling the handle all the way up.

I do have this problem, it's mainly because of the gas foaming up and coming up to the pump which trips the cut off.

If you spent some time under the back of your car you would notice that the fill pipe is very small causing reduced flow and back up. Also, some gas gives of more fumes than others causing a back up. The only remedy is to slow down the filling process.

yea i remember these topics too... i learned from a previous thread that if you turn the handle upside down, problem solved. for me, it happens EVERY time at arco stations.. in fact, it happens ONLY at arco stations. :?
