Default help

i doing my oil change right now... i cant get the god damn filter thing loose... i am supposed to twist left right just how you would unscrew anything? this tool i bought sucks, and im trying to twist it by hand and im so fing mad right now. anyone have any tricks

Go to the parts store and get one of those caps that go on top the filter that you use with 3/8" socket wrench. They call it a "filter wrench" but it's like a really large socket, not the old school strap style filter wrench.

My experience was that the OEM filters were always slightly smaller than the parts store filters. I'd have to put a paper towel on the end of filter, then push the wrench.

I found a plastic Valvoline brand wrench that has steps on the inside. It works on the OEM filters without needing to wedge anything between it and the filter. I think I got it at Walmart.
