if she has a suspended license, you can be pretty sure it's her fault. However depending on how she's processed, getting the money might be a cow.

Not sure where you got that number, I realize prices differ from state to state and so on, but around here, a new bumper is about $200 plus $300 to paint. The hood is about $400 and comes painted. And roughly the $100 for the grille. That equals out to just above $1000 depending on labor rates. Assuming there is no other damage that is found later. But either way it should be her fault because of the suspended license.

I can say this with confidence because i had to do the same thing when a tire came up off the highway and busted up the bumper and grille of my car. And i was pricing hoods because the highway has taken it's toll on my hood and i was wanting to replace it.

Yeah Right! Not on my car and especially since someone else is paying. Besides , new cars need to be made new again! Not live with bondoed parts before the are 5 years old.
It's bad enough they have to try and match the new paint. Good luck and keep us posted of the details please.

The way you get it fixed is notify your insurance co. first. Figure out where you want to have it repaired at. They do estimate and share it with your insurance adjuster. Your insurance pays for your car to be fixed then recovers the costs from her insurance or sues her for reimbursment. If not your fault they should wave the deductable.

i will keep yall posted.

i already went through the insurance and so if it really is her fault (which it should be) then i should get my 500 deductible back.

i went to the auto body shop today and the short knomish man that worked there told me that it would need a completely new hood and that they wouldnt repair it. i dont understand why they have to repaint like EVERYTHING cuz its just factory paint so cant they get a factory hood ordered that comes with the flint mica color? idk cuz its my first accident....well kinda....

If I where you I would not even bother getting the original parts I would jump right o aftermarket and get a VRD grill and buy something life a CF hood If you got a CF hood you would not have to paint it

Most insurances just cut you a check for the estimate. Then you fix it however you like. You could have gotten aftermarket parts and had money left over.

x2. It might be cheaper to get a cf hood than the factory hood and so on.

If we knew how much insurance paid for the repairs it would allow us to figure out how much it would have cost to fix himself with aftermarket/custom parts.
