yesturday i did my second oil change on my xb and everything was fine: i added some neon lighting under my hood a few hours later and when i started my car the check engine and vsc lights came on. i notice slight stalling when in park and i was wondering if anyone out there may have experianced something similar. if so i would appriciate a any sugestions or tips.

honestly, why not take it to the dealer? clearly it's throwing the lights for a reason, the dealer can tell you all of that. If it's underwarranty, they won't even charge you for it.

you know, i just did an oil change about 500 miles ago, and i just noticed my maint required light turned on, and the car comes close to stalling in idle as well.

i did not want to take the car to the dealer because i changed the stock air box for a cold air intake and that would void my warranty. i had the car checked out today at a friend's shop and the problem was the mass air-flow sensor that mounts on the intake. the part is $150 from toyota so iam going to go back to the stock intake (temporary) so that i can get the car serviced at the dealer.

i was looking at mine as wellm the little sensor thing that hangs down looks to be all cloudy and stuff, i tried changing it, also i do oil changes myself, not sure if the scion cars have a built in deal that needs to be reset everytime you get an oilchange to alert the driver incase he or she hasnt got one in a while?

Neither a CAI or SRI will void your warranty. It's called the Magnussen-Moss act. Do a search for it on this site, you'll find more posts than you can stand to read.
