you know, i just did an oil change about 500 miles ago, and i just noticed my maint required light turned on, and the car comes close to stalling in idle as well.

i did not want to take the car to the dealer because i changed the stock air box for a cold air intake and that would void my warranty. i had the car checked out today at a friend's shop and the problem was the mass air-flow sensor that mounts on the intake. the part is $150 from toyota so iam going to go back to the stock intake (temporary) so that i can get the car serviced at the dealer.

i was looking at mine as wellm the little sensor thing that hangs down looks to be all cloudy and stuff, i tried changing it, also i do oil changes myself, not sure if the scion cars have a built in deal that needs to be reset everytime you get an oilchange to alert the driver incase he or she hasnt got one in a while?
