Keyed door
Why do people key doors? I just don't get it.
Well i got keyed today. Its about 5 inches long. I was wondering best way to fix it. I read the section on the touch up paint and am probably going to head to the dealer in the morning. Any ideas appreciated.

Ays is right people can't appreciate all the hard work we put into our cars much less the fact we work 40 hrs week to pay for it and our other bills, but it could have been worse. Take care and I hope it can be fixed easily. Bill

The problem is the damn haters, people see a tight ride like a xB and sometimes just start to get jealous and hate on your ride realizing they just pulled up in a busted up 82 chevy chevette, this is one reason when I drive the xB I park af far away as possible from any other cars I can even if it is raning out and at my house I park a block away on the street where there is only one spot.
It will still happen by people walking by but I live on a dead end so it helps alot.

That sux so bad. Sorry to hear about your car.
Damn, I think I am gonna drive my old Buick to the store or to any place where I would have to leave it for long!
Maybe it's just that each generation feels it has to to be more shocking, more bad ___ than the last? Instead of getting better and learning to love each other, humans are regressing. Guess that's what happens as kids are taught to not believe in God and in loving their neighbor.
The weird thing is that it's all so unprovoked. People's cars are attacked for no reason by total strangers. It's just evil.
I want one of those car covers like in that commercial... the one that looks like a beat up old crappy car. The guy sneaks out and removes his camoflage cover, and a beautiful car is hidden underneath.

Teens tend not to think of the consequences of their actions as much as adults and have a lot more free time to vandalize things. Adults are too busy earning the money to pay for their own things!
If an adult is going to risk arrest and punishment, they're going to make some money on the deal, not just prove their manhood by keying a car.

"Tween Haters" and Other Thoughts
Hating has another generation in training - as in the 9 - 12 year old demographic. Can't tell how many times I have had these kids literally yell out as I drive by "Your car is UGLY!" or "UGLY car!" But the positive vibes have outweighed the negative and all this criticism comes with the territory, there is something about the Scion that is making a statement - and that is what elicits the response. But why? Can't figure it out.
But hey, xBeauty is in the eye of the XBeholder - I think the Scion is a nice piece of art - inside and out. And some people must just not get it.
More importantly, I am very sorry to hear about what has happened to a lot of your sweet rides - just glad that no one has gotten physically hurt - haters and scion-lovers alike.
LONG LIVE THE MAD SCIONTISTS!

sorry to hear that. mine got keyed a little while back and I just used scratch-x and it worked great. i would recommend it, only if the scratch isn't too deep. if it is, you might just need to get it painited.

You know...I thought my XB would get demoloshed sitting in a mall parking lot where I work all night long, but I'm amazed, the only scratch on mine came from my own stupidity...I was talking with a friend liening on the rear quarterpanel when I remembered my work keys were attached to my belt loop...OOOOPS!!! Yeah I'm stupid...However, scratch-x took care of the scratches...
*note to self* remove keys from belt loop before reaching the car...
As for you guys who intentionally got keyed, my condolences...I know what it feels like having something you love get defaced by a complete stranger...You feel powerless and bruised because you can't do anything but deal with the situation not knowing who did it...
Hang in there and hopefully the scratch-x or a similar scratch removing brand can work for you guys

Dude, You keyed your own car! Now I don't feel so bad. I put a little hairline scratch at the edge of the passenger door opening it with my keys in the wrong hand. DOH. That and bumping the door on a lamppost. Luckily I was still holding it and stopped when it barely hit. It was a nasty old cast iron lamp post too, if the door would've swung free, it probably would've torn a hole right thru... I think I can get to it if I pop the door panel, just waiting to get my other in-door project ready to do at the same time...
