Default maintenance light on again

On Dec 13th 2008, I took my car to ez lube for an oil a change at 25,000 miles and on January 6th 2009 at 26,153 the maintenance required light came on i thought it wouldn't be on after you changed it.

In the manual it tells how to reset it......they probably never reset it.something like put odometer to trip A,turn off ignition,hold button and turn on ignition and wait for the 5 bars to count down to none then it is reset......but it is in the manual.

they had the light set for every 2k miles instead of 3 or 5

that reminds me, i just had my oil changed...i didn't reset the mait. req. light, because it wasn't coming on, but i did reset the trip B odo to zero, which is what i pay attention to so long as i don't reset my battery or anything.

It has nothing to do with the brakes. It is simply a mileage counter that trips the light. They didnt reset it, and you most likely had you oil changed at approx 3000 miles or so. So it came on shortly after.

The manual tells you all about the light, how to reset it, etc.
