I could have said the EXACT same thing. Black xB + Mr. Clean Kit + Florida sun = 1 Dissatisfied (sp?) customer!! I have washed my cars by hand for years now, and have always gotten a better result than any drive-thru wash or any special kit. Especially here in FL (I'm from SC) with the hard water and sun, as you said.

 

Am I the only one who has noticed that, if you don't use all your soap and leave it in the nozzle resevoir, you will have a mess to contend with when you go to use it again. To my dismay there are about five tablespoons of detergent (which is actually dish soap by the way) both in the container and all over the counter where it was placed and the soap cap was fully closed.

Needless to say I now make sure it is empty.

That is my only complaint about the product. It works very well and I have been washing my car with it at least once a week.

 

so i guess this thing will work? i always washed my tC by hand cause i dont trust other people or things? i might just have to give this thing a try and keep the reciept! ha ha! i live in south texas, so its freaking hot here! i dont know how the water is? but hopefully this thing will work?!

 

Have it love it but dont like the soap much so i use a different brand thats cheaper as the mr clean stuff is a rip off

 

you can use a different brand with it. I was worried about all that crap it said about getting spots when using a different brand of soap with it.

 

Auto car washes! These certainly are NO substitute for a 'hand-job'. Unless, of course you have a nice soft chamois or absorber to finish with.
Seriously, using the car wash is ok if you have time to use go back over the car with a quick detailer product and glass cleaner.

 

The soap is not dish washing soap. Dish washing soap will strip off your car's wax, Dawn is especially good at this, so do NOT USE DISHWASHING SOAP in your Mr. Clean system. Use the Mr. Clean soap designed for the unit, or buy other car soap specifically formulated for car washing.

 

Florida guy....you are supposed to wash in the shade, not full sun. Re. the "jet nozzle" on the "pro kit" -- it is no big deal. The less expensive kit is just fine, no need to waste money, and the description about it being 5x stronger...that's 5x stronger than the ionizing spray...not 5x stronger than the other model of the Mr. Clean system. If you actually want to spend more money on the "pro" system, fine, but don't think you are getting some significantly bettter product than the original model. You aren't.

 

Maybe I missed this, but you spend 20 dollars or so on the initial kit. HOw much are replacement filters and detergents, etc for the original kit, or do you have to spend 20 dollars each time?

 

the pro kit is about 35 and comes with a starter filter and soap

after you have the kit, you only need to buy soap and replacement filters.

 

The Mr Clean soap works about 10 times better than other soaps though to prevent spotting. The soap actually is part of the no-spot feature.

I love the system.. the filters NEVER last the reccomended time though.. but only short by about 2 washes or so.

I hand wash using a different soap, then spray it down with the mr clean soap and rinse first with the regular then the no spot... works perfect and makes the more expensive soap last longer.

 

I'm from south texas an it works great for me. I can't use car washes cause of my graphics so this is the best for me.

Oh. Well then, there is nobody to blame but myself.

 

used it over the weekend just because my brother was washing his car with it and I decided to jump in. used the ionized water for the engine bay, otherwise didn't really think much of it. I still dried the car myself and waxed it later

 

I've had both and I beg to differ. That jetspray setting will take your skin off.


I spend somewhere between $2 and $3 per wash on soap and filters, probably closer to the lower of the two.

 

The ionized spray is the only part that uses the filter if I am not mistaken.. so you would still have spots if you rinsed the entire car with the normal spray.

 

Frame doesn't follow the directions with the system. Frame then posts he doesn't think much of it. Conclusion?

i bought it. i liked the ionizing spray, that worked really well.
but i hated the soap, so i switched to the NXT car wash to go with the NXT wax i've been using. i'm much happier with the results, even though i have to dry the car by hand again.

 

Sigh....ok.....this probably is not worth the effort, but let's just put some obvious facts out there.

If you follow the directions that come with the system you get an absolutely spot-free finish on your car. Then you can wax and detail it to your heart's content. If you do not follow the directions you don't get a spot free finish. If you want to dry it by hand, you should not buy this system, for that entirely defeats the purpose.

I wash my car, and let it sit an hour or so and come back to a perfectly dry and spot free finish and then apply my wax and ... voila....beautful.
