Nasty Water Spots
They are starting to sicken me to death, Any tricks on how to get these water spots out? I use Stoners but I can never get them all out. I've tried multiple applications, and letting it sit for a few seconds end result...the water spots are still there and here I am asking for help.
I've tried looking it up and I found out that a soft cloth damped with a little white Vinegar will get it out but wasn't oo sure about that any word if this works? When another article talked about using a liquid acid cleaner I immediately came here

Random-orbital buffer will remove them. Start w/ a mild compound and move up to something more agressive if that does not work.
Vinegar might work although that depends on the amount of disolved minerals in the H2O, the source of the water (garden sprinklers seem to be very hard to remove) and if the spots were allowed to bake in the sun at all.

BEFORE you start using abrasives try using a clay bar
It rains fairly decently hear and my office is near a rock quary, keeping my care clean is HELL. Water spots are a constant battle for me. A good pass or 2 with a clay bar gets rid of them for me really well. I use Mothers Clay Bar

Are you talking about water spots in the glass or the paint.
I have some water spots in my glass that I haven't been able to get out with traditional cleaners. I'm going to use some vinegar based cleaner to see if it comes out.

don't use a rubbing compound, don' know why anyone would in the first place you'll mess up your paint and that's about it, go with least abbrasive methods first then to some chemicals if needed some vinegar in warm water try with the mildest solution first then get to tronger if it doesnt work, i'd recommend warm soapy (car soap) water did the job for me but i didnt let it bake for more than a couple days
plus car planted under trees for 2 weeks didnt help but I got the job done without messing up the paint
anyways good luck

newspapers are amazing but don't think it will work with the water stains, but once you get them clean do a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol in a gallon of water with a damn cotton cloth, then go over it with a newspaper you won't believe the results my windows never been that crisp before hehe
must be those cleaning ads that make it work so well in there ...

This is what I do when I get some nasty water spots. Grab a tennis ball, wrap it with a clean towel, apply your favorite wax and go over the paint like as if you were waxing the car. Make sure to use a little more elbow grease to get rid of the water marks. this has worked for me many times. (tennis ball really helps with grip and leverage, plus it's soft so you won't damage the paint. hope this works for you as it does for me

I just bought some of this and it works great. Got it at a local Carquest store.
