need help with drum brakes
Sorry, couldn't find any DIY or posts for drum brakes on the scion xb. When should I change my drum brakes? I have 60k on them now. I changed my fronts around 40k. Questions:
1. Are drums easy to change, I supposed just as easy as the fronts.
2. What are the parts and cost?
3. I rather do it myself, or is there something special that the dealer needs to do.
Thanks.

FOr me the drums are a bit hard to change because of all the springs and adjustments u have to do, and typically they last quite a while my dad's van has the drum brakes in the rear for 110K now and still does not need changing, the rear doesnt stop the car much its only when u slamm on ur brakes, the fronts are the usual that kicks in.
parts are usually 45-75 bucks depends on where you get them, any drum brakes work the same so if you look it up you'll see it a bit harder, bbut after your first time u should be able to do it again, so i just take mine to the shop
they sqeal by the way when u need to change
