Default OEM Toyota oil filter or aftermarket?

Where (online?) is the best deal on OEM Toyota oil filters for the xB?
Also, are there any significant differences in the way OEM or aftermarket oil filters are constructed or perform? or is it basically just change the oil/filter at regular intervals regardless of name brands? There is such disparity in the prices of oil and filters... do you really get what you pay for (ie. K&N, TRD)?

There is a big difference in oil filters. Toyota OEM are actually really good. There are several comparisons online. Some of the cheaper filters stop filtering smaller particles after some time. I know FRAM really wear out after a simulated 2,000 miles in one test I read.

Mobil 1 filters are great as well.

Good reads:

If I had to pick 5 out of the 10 as being the best, I would pick the Purolator PureOne, K&N, Toyota, Wix, and Purolator PremiumPlus as this group. Their prices start at $3.49 and go up to $9.94. Probably only the Mobil 1 filter is superior to the filters in this group

wrong. oem is the $h!t. they usually have a anti drain back feature so your oil lines remain full upon start up.

it doesn't matter if there is oil in the filter. you want the oil in the lines. the filter prevents the oil from draining from the oil lines so you don't have to wait for the oil pressure to build up to lube the motor on start up.

I say the brand of oil is more important that the filter brand. I prefer Mobil 1 oil and I've used Fram filters for 25 years with out a single problem.
What oil lines are you talking about? If the filter stays full you will have instant oil pressure upon start-up
