why do you need to change your spark plugs?
they soooooo NOT need to be changed.

oil filter.. NOT Fram.. use Toyota's oil filter.. they work the best for our vehicle.

as far as oil? your choice.

Your plugs are good for 60,000 miles at the absolute minimum. Recommended change interval is 100k.

Mobil 1 pure synthetic oil and a Purolator PureOne filter will do you no wrong.

Count me in. If you actually cut open the oil filters, you would be suprised how much better the toyota filters are compared to ANY aftermarket filter.

Yeah I only use the OEM Toyota filters as well when I do my changes. They are excellent and the price can't be beat!

Toyota filters seem to be nice. I also wouldn't hesitate to use Purolator, Mobil or Amsoil filters. Of course, the Mobil and Amsoil filters are $10+.

I wouldn't use Mobil 1 oil, though. I do not believe their oil is 100% synthetic.

Pennzoil Platinum is a good oil. For a very good oil, Amsoil is the way to go. Quaker State is good oil as well.

M1 oil switched out from being fully synthetic when they went from their tri-synthetic to what they have now, I think that happened in 2003 (?). For that matter, PP and QS are now both group 3 - Hydrocracked (considered "synthetic" only here in the US). Most over the counter oil are hydrocracked these days anyways, all thanks to Castrol (the main reason I have refused to use their oil).

As for filters, Mobil1 filters are actually made by Champion Labs using the same design as the other filters they make, just a little thicker element - maybe. Save your money and buy a Supertech - $4, STP - $5, or Bosch - $6, which are essetiencally the same thing. Not to mention the shorter element.

Denso makes Toyota Oil Filters, IMHO the ones that were made in the USA were much better than the new ones from Thailand!
