Default Polish Brand New Car

I'm wondering if my brand new car should be polished or not. Is it worth paying for the polishing supplies I need or is their no point for a new car? My to-buy list of deatailing products for the car:
-Klasse All-In-One
-P21S Carnuba Wax
-Sonus SFX Detail Clay Bundle
-Sonus Gloss Shampoo
-Meguiars Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner
-Stoner More Shine Less Time for Tires
-Meguirs Mirror Glaze #34 Final Inspection (what's the difference between this stuff and their normal detail spray?)

Am I missing anything?

That's a good list of products. The only thing I would lose is the wheel cleaner. It's not necessary. Your wheels are just like your car's paint, and it needs the same type of love. Wash your wheels just like you wash your car, and when you wax your car, wax your wheels.

A brand new car should be washed, clayed, lightly polished and waxed as soon as you receive it. Wash it, use the Sonus clay kit (make sure you get the green clay, the grey clay is very strong), hit it with AIO and follow up with P21S. Wash your car once a week, and wax every six weeks if you are going to stick with P21S.

Enjoy.

depends. If you let the dealer touch your car prior to delivery, then I'd say there's a 90% chance you'll have to do some light polishing to correct the marring they will no doubt put in.

However, if you had a good dealer like mine (with a fresh car), you won't have any swirls that were installed by the dealer, and since its new paint anyway, no polishing should be necssary.

However, as samhain said, make sure you wash, clay, and put some quality wax on there. P21S sounds pretty good. Oh and the AIO isn't a bad idea, either... sam has some sound advice. Just make sure you are redoing the wax every month/month and a half, especially now that it is summer.

not to threadjack, but i've seen and heard of people using clay. what is it and what does it accomplish? ive never used it. I just wash my car, use meguires paint cleaner and polish then turtle wax. I like how it comes out when im done. Am i missing any benefits from clay?

yes, you're missing out on one of the MOST important steps of detailing, anyone with a white car can attest that no matter how much they wash, polish, buff, and wax, there's still spots of "crud" all over their car - that's what claying takes out, plus everything else that you don't visibly see but still affects the depth and reflection of the paint - it's the MOST overlooked step in detailing, and yet, the MOST important for improving the reflection and perfection of your paint

this is what you're leaving on your car by not claying:

believe me, your car will look better after a good wash and clay completely "naked" of any protection than it does right now with whatever wax you have on it, guaranteed. Then you can get down to business and start polishing the scratches and swirls that were probably covered up before, then apply the dressings of your choosing to give it that little extra something

some people think clay scratches and swirls their car after they use it, this is not true unless it is user error and something goes drastically wrong. Clay just takes EVERYTHING off the car, good or bad, and uncovers the true condition of the paint.

Don't get Meguiar's Final Inspection, get the Ultimate Quick Detailer instead...by far the best Meguiar's product I have EVER used!

Well, considering how most people think they're supposed to "clay"... e.g., I had a neighbor ask me for help once, and she was rubbing the clay on the COMPLETELY DRY paint
