Default Question for Scangauge II users.

I just received my Scangauge and after waiting for about 3 weeks for it, I ran outside to hook it up. Really nice, lots of features. After setting it up, I ran a scan and it did not find any trouble codes. The problem is that my VSC, ABS, and TRAC OFF lights are on.

Are those lights supposed to register a trouble code? I'm confused.

Not that I know of, I have both generations of the Scangauge, and niether has caused this type of action in the dashboard information area.

Did you just have the ignition key in the ACC pos or was the car running?

The scangauge did not cause the lights. I already had the lights on and ran a scan. I had the car on when I ran the scan.

Check your fuses, I've seen this type of indication before with a blown fuse (not in a Scion though). If it isnt that, have you done any mods lately? If not any of the above I'd take it in to the dealer and let then diagnose the prob, warrenty is a great thing!

Keep me/us posted!

I've checked fuses. The only mod I have is an intake which I had long before these lights came on. I've also cleaned the MAF sensor, done the EFI fuse pull and nothing. As far as warranty, I already have 53K on the box so I don't think I'm covered anymore. I'll probably end up taking it in anyway.

Try tightening your gas cap and reset the ECU. The lights should go out.

^^^Already tried. Actually, I've removed the fuse in the engine compartment several times. Each time waiting about a minute or so and no luck.

^^^^ Try leaving the fuse out 5 minutes. I don't think 1 minute is quite long enough. If it still happens you might have a faulty sensor or something else wrong that will have to be tracked down under warranty. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Off hand, what's covered under warranty after 36K miles?

Well, I finally found the cause of the VSC, ABS, TRAC OFF lights on my dash. I recently changed my wheels and tires and while installing the right front, I noticed a sensor was loose. I'm guessing it's the speed sensor. The screw that holds it in place fell off and the sensor was just hanging around. Screwed it back on and like magic, lights are gone.
