I was wondering if anyone's used the rain repellants that you put in the windshield wiper fluid resevior, the regular spray rain repellant, the interior fog repellant, or anything like these and if so, what do you recommend?

 

I recently applied the Rain X spray onto my front windshield. It works like a champ. :D

 

I use RainX in the Windshield Washer tank of my vehicles. It seems to make rain bead up like wax on the body. It only protects down to minus 25 F but that is adequate for my area. I must drain the tank on my new xA soon as I have no idea what the dealership put in it. I will then fill it with RainX.

I am happy with the Windshield Washers on the xA. Three jets on each side. I have always had difficulty squirting with single jets attempting to squirt fluid at the right time to sync with the wipers. With three jets there is no problem. Just a problem of keeping the tank from going dry at the wrong time. Found ANCO winter wipers for the windshield of the xA. Took a lot of looking but finally found them at an Auto Zone. Almost time to get them on.

 

Do you dilute it with water or just a crap load of rainx?

 

Those windshield washer jets don't do crap at 80mph...

Diluted rainX? I think there is a separate jug of rainX (like regular washer fluid) you can get other than the spray bottle you treat the windshield with... i've never used it, but I've seen it near the other fluids. Let me know how effective it is... i'm always kinda leery about that stuff. For now, the rainX window treatment works for me.

The ANCO winter wipers have a thin rubber boot over the entire flex linkage of the wiper. Slush and snow can't get into that area and freeze up. The boot covered wiper will take longer to get a build up of frozen slush which will cause the blade to fail to do its job. These winter wipers should not be used in summer as the sun seems to ruin the rubber boot over time. I use only the pre diluted RainX in the gallon size and ready to pour into the windshield washer tank. I seem to have read somewhere that one must be quite careful of the paint when using the RainX which is wiped onto the windshield. I have had no problem with the premix stuff. Just that the low temp limit may not be low enough for some states. We rarely see zero F in my area.

 

I had to put the rain-x crap in my washer fluid and now my windsheild is streaky.

 

i use rain-x in my washer fluid and it works great...i also use rain-x carwash liquid...water just slides right off...best wash soap ive ever used

 

In addition to its windshield treatment (I used the pre-moistened cloths which work great), Rain-X makes two kinds of windshield washer solution. There's a green bug remover one which is good down to 30ºF and an orange de-icer which is good down to -25ºF. I've been using the green one which cleans well but seems to be a little streaky.
